Just popping in to say the pup is a "cockapoo" Brambling - much more spaniel size and shape than poodle and very, very sweet:). My neighbours just sent me a photo of her curled up round the cat in front of their stove, both snoozing peacefully so it looks as though "d!tente" has been achieved even if it just while the stove is lit :rotfl::rotfl
I hope the peace continuesone of my neighbours has a cockapoo he was almost 4 before he grew out of being a puppy, and I still occasionally get puppy paw prints on my knees when he forgets himself
My PITA woke me at 6.30am his morning :eek: so was fed and the catflap opened before I went back to bed, which wasn't a good idea as I stayed too long and felt sluggish. I stayed at home today as I didn't need anything and would spend if I went to town :money:
I didn't get around to lunch until 3pm so just had some fruit as I needed to eat early tonight. Dinner was lamb chops, root vegetable mash, French beans, broccoli and new potatoes with gravy and a good dollop of mint sauce as I was hungry
I'm off soon to see 'Adele' well a tribute :rotfl: at the local theatre with my sisterLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
I'm back to CFO as my son headed off about an hour ago. The weather is foul so he thought the journey might take longer than usual and he has things to do when he gets back. He's back for a flying (work-related) visit in just over a week, though I suspect he'll be here to sleep for a night and that'll be about it.
I had a smashing evening at my sister's she made haggis, neeps & tatties:) and I might have had a tad too much wine :oas I'm slightly muzzy headed this morning. If it dries up I'll have a trundle round the block to blow away the cobwebs.
Haggis again for me tonight in the shape of haggis stuffed beef olives which I'll pop in the baby SC this afternoon with the LO onion gravy from Thursday. There's LO neeps as well and I've mash in the freezer so apart from peeling a few sprouts not much prep needed for dinner. Brunch will be bacon, egg and tomato on toast as there are a couple of rashers of streaky needing used. My son got me a top up shop yesterday while he was doing his own as I only needed milk, bread and some fruit & veg. I need to sort out my meal plan for the week and plan a proper delivery probably for Friday.0 -

Job's a good 'un
As it happened my layered thingy turned out tasty, if taking longer to cook than expected, loads left over for today's rinse & repeat dinner
Dull day again, rain on it's way by mid afternoon according to the radar, but not going anywhere so it's of no consequence
Porridge breakfast as usual
Lunch, not sure, maybe scrambled eggs on toast?
I've a surplus of mushrooms and now my meat order is here I may defrost some stewing steak for a hearty stew tomorrow [more rain due]
My DD bought me some dried New Forest mushrooms as Christmas pressie, if I remember I'll sort some of them out & chuck them in as wellNumerus non sum0 -
I had porridge with almond milk, berries, hemp seeds and some maple syrup. I bought the maple syrup yesterday as I thought it might make the porridge sweeter. It tasted much nicer!:)
I have bread rolls in the fridge so I will do veggie burgers with wedges, salad and olives later.
I'm about to go and pick up the dogs. It was nice to have a break from them.:D0 -
Lunch today aws the final 2 flatbreads and 4 fish fingers. Splash of hot sauce, but I'd eaten the final doritos for breakfast.
Later on... it'll be a pot noodle no doubt (L1dl/36p one).
Peeing down here today. Cold, wet.0 -
Lunch was the final LO HM pea N ham soup with some dunked bread
Also peeing down here now, only need to pop the layered spuds thing in oven to warm through, double bonus as it'll warm the kitchen up nicely as wellNumerus non sum0 -
The layered spuds sound fab FARWAY:p
Glad you had a good night WEDNESDAY:D
Not sure what I'm eating yet.I was hoping to use my new steamer, but it's been delivered to a neighbour, who I don't even know, n is never in .Bloody Royal Mail "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Yep peeing down here to since lunchtime :rotfl: I understand a present from Dorset via Hampshire according to the local radio
How annoying Candy, can you leave your number through their door to call you when they get in ?
Other than a visit to an ex neighbour to help her with a form :mad: :wall: and almost  I've stayed in today, I cooked some stuffed vegetables for the next few lunches which cleared the odds and sods of lurking veg from the fridge
Lunch was roasted cauliflower (another lurking veg ) with some cheese sprinkled over and a roasted fennel. Dinner was fried lambs liver with root veg mash, purple sprouting and runner beans. I forgot to fry my onions :cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good evening everyone,
It finally dried up as it was getting dark so I never got my trundle round the block, just a few trips to the bin/log store between the heaviest bursts. A couple of mugs of tea and food put paid to my muzzy head thankfully.:D
According to the forecast we are on weather warning for snow and ice for the next 48 hours:eek:. I doubt we'll get any snow but it has certainly turned very cold. Unless it is treacherous underfoot tomorrow I want to head to the library, then I'm quite happy to hunker down for a couple of days if need be. I have plenty of supplies...;)
My "new" computer desk has been installed and the old one recycled, while my son was dismantling the old one he found a notebook lodged down the back of the drawers. It was one of the ones the kids & used to use to leave notes for each other when they were in their teens and quite often not about when I got home. While most of it was boring there were a few "gems" which I've photographed and sent to them :rotfl::rotfl:.
A (very) vague meal plan has been constructed and in next couple of days I plan to make an old fashioned "cheese pudding" as I have egg yolks LO from making pavlova to use up. I don't think I've made cheese pudding since the kids were tiny and it was a cheap week before payday meal when there was just one wage coming in.
The beef olives have simmered in the SC and smell fab - my sis popped by for a cuppa and the first thing she said was "what is that gorgeous smell?" I think they may feature on her menu this week if Morrison's have any.:cool:0 -
Good idea BRAMBLING , no idea why I didn't think of doing that lol:o
Oooh what's a cheese pudding CARONC? Sounds lovely"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
