Farway I hope you had a visa to come across the border :D

Glad Shaun was a success Caronc :T a homemade cake made with love always taste and look better than a shop brought one :D

I went to work today but was definitely flagging by early afternoon, still waiting for my sense of taste and smell to return :o just need to let it work it's self out and hope it doesn't upset the asthma :D.

No proper cooking today, lunch was the last of the chicken soup and dinner LO pork stroganoff with a sweep of the LO veg in the fridge :)

My sandwich maker got sent to charity when I moved 14 years ago, it had been a present I had pushed to the back of the cupboard after the initial usage and as I try to avoid too much bread it was gathering dust :). Occasionally I regret it, usually when someone talks about cheese toasties :rotfl:

It's so hard to beat a "breville" toastie for pure enjoyment with a hint of risk- superheated on the inside and lovely and crunchy on the sealed bits.:D A scalded mouth was always worth it. :rotfl:

Ah actually it's what you might call a sandwich press - our original 80's toasted sandwich maker went to charity some years ago (I think). My speciality back in the day was mashed potato toasties with added cheese

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Don't know about the looks better but it was definitely made with love, I had the great honour of being at the "messy end" when he was born...:)
Hope the lurgy doesn't inflame your asthma.

unrecordings - yikes a mashed spud & cheese toastie takes me right back to the early 80s, it was one of my then boyfriends favourites though some HP had to be mixed through. It was scarily good as was a similiar effort using squished up leftover roasties:eek:.
  • I'm having Machiavellian thoughts about the blini in the freezer, smoked salmon & (somehow) scrambled egg.

Roasties in this house are never leftover, merely 'allocated'.

Day 7 of The Hand. It's no worse :) It's about 2% better... so probably another 2-3 weeks before I announce I'm back to normal.... assuming it isn't hiding a secret fracture I've no knowledge of yet.

I'm sure PN won't mind, but having just been alerted to and served some 'hidden' cherry brandy by Mrs Un, my thoughts turn to a little music (at least that's what I call it).

Now imagine someone with only one working hand trying to put headphones on:

    Darned annoying...

    Good afternoon everyone,
The weather was really wild during the night but at least so far today it is drier. It's still blowing a hooley and bitterly cold. The dehumidifier made a sterling job of drying the laundry, all but the heaviest stuff was dry this morning and the rest not far behind it, I'm well impressed.:D
Salad wrap again for lunch and I'm just off to prep stovies for the baby SC. It's to dip below freezing this evening so I'm wanting some proper winter comfort food.:)

Bit CBA for lunch, maybe lugy related but not really hungry for real food, so became a fried egg sarnie
Dinner, I think the last Pukka L & P pie with HM chips sould be easy enough

I've still got mine somewhere at back of cupboard, it must be about due for it's annual outing now the subject has been raised

  • There really is nothing like a crisp sandwich Farway. I've run out of marg so I can't have one as it doesn't taste right to me without marg on the bread.

I'm not feeling that hungry at the moment. I think I might have a burger before I go out.
