My aunt and uncle in the north of Scotland used to do B&B years ago and in the summer they slept in a big garden shed and rented all their bedrooms out :rotfl:0 -
I think that a family on Alvin Hall's prog to pay off your mortgage in 2 years did that. And they were the only family to reach their goal. I think the husband sold log burners and the wife managed the household stuff and taught yoga. Thry were a really likeablr family.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Yes I am kind of at the rent all the rooms out stage, but I'm holding out for still getting students this summer. Fingers crossed.
Next year I am not going to book a summer holiday in the summer hols for sure as it will cost me thousands in lost student earnings. I'm also going to work extra hours in early summer, and take time off the week before the hols start as this is a busy time for international students apparently.
I've set myself a few next targets for the summer, until October and then one until Christmas.
I am having real trouble with ds2. He has real separation anxiety away from me, on drop off to school. I stopped doing youtube filming /blogging etc but I missed it so much. It holds me accountable and gets me organised, makes me set targets and work towards them - it totally suits me to create things and think through things - even if Im not that good at it yet. I stopped because I thought it was an extra stress when I should be concentrating on the boys, but it has really made no difference.
So youtubing etc is back on the list, but I'm going to do more casual videos at break/lunch times in class or my car or something to make sure it doesn't leak over into my home life.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Things sound as busy as ever! I don't know how you do it all.
Holiday plans sound amazing!

Hi Wannabe Thanks for stopping by! So lovely of you!!
I am enjoying feeling a bit more balanced.
Every day this week I have done the 30 day shred. I've tried other workouts but this just seems to have the best effect. It was hard at first but level 1 is now fairly comfortable, even if I do sruggle with a minute of push ups! I am aiming to lose a stone before the end of June. When I promised I'd wear a bikini after buying some in the sales last year - ooops!
One child at a party - present free with vouchers and a 10p card. Other child wanted to go to soft play etc but managed to talk him into baking and a walk so we had a lovely time (much better than the soft play I think) and it was free.
I have set myself the challenge of free weekends with the kids (except £5 each week for us all to go swimming because I don't send them to lessons) for the month of May - might even continue into June.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

It's so hard when your child isn't happy. Hugs to you xNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

I am hoping he'll stop being so upset soon. I think it's better if I say gooybye at the house and he goes with his dad to school.
I was just nipping back to share a tip. I have to do cpd at work, and always select a few free future learn courses as they are measurable etc and I quite like them. I wanted to extend my student membership to pr1me (had it when doing my masters), and with a letter confirming my cpd for the year from my boss they extended the student membershipso it's great for £39 its really wirth it!

Great few days! I've worked out what our pay rise will mean roughly and it's going to give me a big boost as a lump sum and also a more comfortable monthly existence. Great news.
I have been round a few times to my friend who I was worried about she's doing amazing and I'm just in awe of what she's doing.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j
