Broken finger is OK really - everything happens for a reason and hopefully it's a lesson for ds1 to just be a little bit more careful.

Busy day running around yesterday. Started the washing mountain - Karma it was £4.50 for a load of washing where I was although I'm sure I could have found a cheaper laundrette we just managed with what we had.

Took kids to community event, did some sliming, took one to a party (present from store) and then the other one and I went shopping and found a cheap solution to the mass of cables that was growing in the kitchen. Now I have a blog I think I can post pictures there and link on here. Anyway the amazon solution is a proper dock for £30 but I've found something much prettier and less than £5.

Had a fuel voucher and a lidl voucher so saved £12. Have another lidl £10 off voucher to be used by end of the week so I'll make a list of store cupboard items.

Other jobs done - thank you cards and flowers to neighbour for looking agfter hens, and some decluttering done too. It felt like a really productive day!

Made a video about my planner which is not a sight for the feint hearted, you know I like my routines and lists and my planner is crazy everyone asks me about it when they see it so I thought I'd do a video on it :)

Working 5 morning next week. Boys have a morning football camp - paid for by relative at Christmas. Sharing lifts with another mum. In the afternoons we have a playdate, errands to do, a library gardening event and picking up library books, an afternoon in the garden and a walk planned.

Big things to do this week:
    - MSE stuff -this will include me doing a paper budget, reducing costs, reducing grocery budget to £35/week, shopping around for car insurance.

    -work on ohs business
    - declutter
    - errands - doctors appt, collect prescription
    - wash car and hoover (it's a sight after the holiday)
    - garden - plant seeds and more bulbs, weeding at front

Thanks themadvix. Yes it was great. I have really struggled to get back into things the past few days because work at lunch club has been difficult and a bit haunting.

I run a lunch club in the hols to give free school meals and an hour of activites. It's tough work but the past few days have broken my heart. Some of the children I've had real concerns about, some of them so underfed - hungry - and this is the only meal they get in a day. They are dirty and no parents drop them off or pick them up - kids aged 5!! Some say their parents frighten them and they are basically passed out due to achohol abuse. (I'm not judging anybody times are hard and things are difficult but I have reported the things I need to report as I have to) I posted this on wannabefree's thread and I've just copied it hope that's ok.

Anyway, I must get my head back in the game tomorrow - off to read and relax now.

Oh Earthie, that sounds awful. Like Apple said, you're doing the best you can for them and making a difference both by feeding them and reporting as necessary, and I'm sure by giving them your attention and friendship during the time they are with you. It must be so difficult though :(

    Heart breaking.

The work you do gives them a good meal and a hour of company, id try to focus on that.

It does burden you but you cannot heal every problem, and you are doing your best for them. Hugs.

That's really painful, earthie, I'm so sorry to hear about those children. You *do* have to report it, though, you really, really do. And for your own sake, try to use the journey between the club and your own home/ your destination, as a break, to stop it haunting you. Otherwise, overload/ burnout, the whole horrible mess can overwhelm you.

Sad to hear - but the positive is that at least they are having that break from their 'norm' with some food and some fun/ distraction from their usual reality.

It should not happen, for sure - but you are really helping them with the lunch club and also by reporting things xx
