  • Hello Karma, Beanie, Madvix and apple, and anyone else, although I can't think why anyone would actually want to read this. It keeps me going though! So a quick weekly review:
    Money making:
I have applied for the amex card to get nectar points
I am still doing a couple of online lessons per week after school. I will advertise for face to face bookings again now children are back to school.
Should really focus on easy ways to up my income, but I am near the top of the tax bracket. I could really do with a lodger again - the last one moved out before covid. We are nervous of doing airbnb again as there is a lot of shared space.
    Money out:
I saved quite a bot of money getting a rescue kitten from cats protection at the weekend, in terms of I didn't buy an expensive kitten from a breeder - or worse still - get scammed.
I have an amaz0n voucher from work, so I will use this to get cat food. I improvised cat toys, bed and litter tray.
Our weekly shop was £75 - budget of £80.
I'm meeting up with friends every other week for a face to face chat. A few weeks ago I cooked mexican, it was quite cheap. This week I think we are just meeting somewhere for drinks so should be quite cheap.

    General
Kittens are not cheap, but we have wanted a pet for a long time and this seemed a good year to get a kitten to allow it to settle as we are not going out much. I really need to get on with tidying up the spare room, it is full of papers. Also, I will try to sort out my tax so I know exactly how much I have left before I hit the next tax bracket.

  • Hi eg2
You probably know this already (I only found out last week !!!) that if you apply/log on to Gov.uk, they hold all sorts of info regarding your empliyment/expected salary for the year/expected tax for the year and how much extra you can earn before hitting the next tax bracket.  Hope that helps a little, may be slightly different for self employed though.

I also need to clear spare room - filled with more than just papers, think yourself lucky  :D

How lovely to get the kitten, yay!  As for the tax bracket thing, remember about claims you can make to bring down your net profit.
And as for who's reading - there's probably a *lot* more than you think.  Posts of mine on my diary get the usual 3 - 5 maybe 8 thanks.  And when I posted a link to my Norwegian photos in 2018, over 120 people clicked on it to have a look!  Not monetised, of course, itw as on flickr, but it was lovely to think of lots of people looking at those photos.
Have a good week, earthie, enjoy the kitten :)

Oh beanie - that's great news!
Earthie - you just dropped that into the conversation, didn't you! Was it planned? I assume not, given that you improvised toys, bed + litter tray!
