Having a wonderful time on holiday. As we forego a summer foreign holiday normally as I have students instead, this is my official holiday. Although not very environmentally friendly in terms of flights, it is a wonderful relaxing special family time that we all treasure. There's a balance there somewhere I hope? and I've offset the carbon. Great deal as well as we flew out on New Year's Eve and it was really cheap.
I've also been picking up plastic from the Indian Ocean every day on my walk. The staff think I'm nuts as it's someone else's job, but I can't walk by a plastic bag on a beach!
My health challenge is going well despite all you can eat and drink - that's tough! But I e stuck to delicious healthy salads and walked and done the aqua aerobics every day too! Two more days of bliss and then we fly back.
My health challenge has been spurred on by taking part in a 100 day 30 mins per day exercise challenge. It works really well for me - focus on consistency and behaviour changes. I am thinking about a buy nothing challenge and a do something positive for the environment challenge, maybe save money and make money challenge each day too!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

It sounds lovely Earthie, so glad you're enjoying yourself and relaxing - and what Karma said - you've done your bit by offsetting, so just enjoy now. Love the beach cleaning thoughMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Back from holiday and although the area seems more settled now, I was glad to get home, whilst also having had an amazing holiday. The price was amazing just by returning 2 days after the schools started, and flying out on NYE.
OH actually wants to go back again, but I am not so keen I like to see lots of different places.
Anyway back to reality.
Health
I've continued with my 30 minutes daily exercise and this is just amazing. I have to spilt it some days, things don't go to plan so I just do what I can, when I can - I'm not following a routine or making myself run or gym, so if I want to get up do a beyonce workout I just do it and enjoy it!
Food on the other hand I probably still need to look into. I left behind sugar and unhealthy foods last year, but I need more protein, healthy fats, veggies and water. In an easy way, that doesn't break the bank!
Wealth
I've been getting back into my tutoring, working through December/ Christmas netted me about £300.
I've worked every day on OHs business. He has started to pay out a small monthly payment again
DS1 wants to start gymnastics, that is £13 per monthI have always said just one thing - football for example - and then scouts. £13 per month seems reasonable but I'd like to think about this some more.
I have had a rethink on the milk, I worked it out over a month and it's too expensive to get glass - beanie you were right. I am instead working to really reduce our milk intake whilst kids still getting calcium.
Environment
I didn't take hundreds of little hotel toiletries for the first time ever!!
I am really focused on consuming less.
2 people stopped me yesterday in the supermarket to ask me about my veg bags and bringing containers to the deli. Ripples.
I have come to an arrangement to buy chicken from the butcher in bulk in the actual container it comes from the farm, and return the container. This works brilliantly with my way of cooking. I cook 30 chicken meals in one hour and freeze one week, the next week 30 veggie meals, next week 30 fish. It uses a lot less energy (and my energy) than cooking from scratch each night. Then we use up, and are not tempted by takeways because something is already defrosting. And it's impossible for OH to say he can't find something to eat!
I have been using the electric car and reducing my little trips here and there in the car.
I have analysed where I can get my veg packaging free from and at what price. I am using the new grocery store in my village when the price is right.
I'm all organised with a montly bulk buy list - this saves me money too.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Earthie, what a fantastic list of developments! Well done you! And yes, I agree, £13 a month for gymnastics sounds very reasonable2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Wow! Can I ask what veggie meals you have in your repertoire? I'm intrigued by the thought of doing a big batch cook in such a short time.0
