Don't know - because I've played safe and use two Tesco accounts with one DD from each. It works with other banks. I'll know if it works with Barclays at the start of July. I suggest playing safe - not just in this way, but also by using different, non-trivial amounts and different dates.

I haven't got everything in place for June and hence won't need the direct debit until July, so I may check back with you, unless someone else knows for definite..?
In this specific, Barclays, case, my wife and I both have Barclays Blue Reward activated - and both have two Tesco accounts. For each Barclays account DDs are pulled by one of my Tesco accounts and one of hers. The four amounts pulled are all different.
This may seem OTT - but I think that it makes sense. The name of the game is to stay well below the radar. Several MSEers have been kicked out by Tesco recently - I suspect by making themselves too obvious.
They'll now recognise only too well how important a role Tesco plays in the strategy.0 -

Just to be clear, you're pulling a DD from a sole Barclays account in you're wife's name to a sole Tesco account on your name? Did you have to do something special to set this up?
Doubt it, DDs are very easy to set up. My partner changed one of our bills to be paid for from one of my accounts without the company even asking for my consent!0 -

Correct. It appears that Tesco doesn't restrict DDs to pull accounts in the account holder's name only - so no special actions taken. I've the same arrangements in place for Halifax Reward, Lloyds Vantage, Club Lloyds and Santander 123.0 -
Well Tesco called me to say I couldn't, however they didnt rescind it! So who knows?

My wife and I cross fund DDs, but very much aware that Tesco say. " From an account in your name. " So it might not be such a bright idea.0 -

Are you sure?
Any DD can generally be to any sort code and account number, and Tesco's DD mandate don't appear to be different.
