The trouble is that I have already reaped the rewards from first direct, halifax, Yorkshire Bank, Nationwide and now NatWest. HSBC is the account I opened when I started working at 16 and still hold it.

I suppose I’m getting to the end of my current account tarting !!

One day Barclays may do a switching offer.... it won't be worth much, but holding on for that (or any other offers) makes more sense than simply closing accounts.

Once the 13th has passed and they pay the £125 I will be closing the account. Natwest haven!!!8217;t got anything appealing as linked products or other incentives to keep the account open long term. I!!!8217;m also very surised that their app has been voted the best in some recent poll

The app stopped working with my finger print, said some nonsense about my phone being rooted (which it isn't and it works with every other bank).

I don't know if you ever watch Dave Gorman's Modern Life Is Good-ish but he has exposed that companies can buy "Best of"-type rankings. So I wouldn't take the "poll" too seriously if I were you. :)

Does any bank do refer-a-complainant where each of you gets £25 if one of you complains?

I have done very well complaining and got loads of wonga.

Did you get compensation for the embarrassment you were caused by NWB paying you the £125 well in advance of everyone else and your having to face the ignominy of not being believed by the millions on MSE?
