We just had simple beans on toast for lunch today. For dinner tonight I have some diced beef, onion, mushroom and a bottle of ale simmering away in the slow cooker and I’ll make that into a puff pastry pie which will feed us for two nights. I had to use up some long life milk which was nearing its use-by date so have made some pots of creme caramel with it.3

Soup for lunch and the other half of the wartime cheese pudding and supper this evening will be 'grandma's curried eggs' a recipe of HWKs mums invention which is hard boiled eggs on a tomato sauce base covered with grated cheese and cooked bacon bits, sprinkled with curry powder/curry sauce and covered with cooked rice, butter dots, lemon juice and baked in the oven, I know it sounds fiddly but it's bloomin' delicious!5

I also braved Aldi yesterday, after not being to a shop for 10 days! I spent ridiculous amount of money for Aldi, but have lots of food&goodies, including whiskey & gin for long drinks in the evening. Oh and laundry egg, trying to be more eco.
