Using up the last of the LO beef from Sunday's dinner to make a beef biryani using some of the spice mix I bought in Goa earlier in the year.

Burgers (Linda McCartney for me, beef for OH) in pittas with salad and sweet potato fries. Will be trying some Tiptree mayonnaise that we got given from the tea room yesterday - hopefully yummy!

Last night I made turkey, feta and spinach meatballs, cheese and tomato quiche, coleslaw, cous cous salad and a green salad. Leftovers for pickups.

Tonight we had mashed potato, broccoli, cabbage. Then the protein was me smoked haddock and poached egg, daughter chicken Kiev, husband had a liver and bacon casserole from freezer.

I made a pineapple upside down pudding for dessert and will put the rest in freezer.
  • I'm off to town on the bus this morning and will have a bowl of soup out somewhere, HWK will raid the fridge and can choose from pate, cheese, ham or cold salmon I cooked yesterday for his lunch. Supper in the evening will be lentil dahl, vegetable curry, basmati rice, chutney and fresh bits and pieces to go on top of it. Cup of black coffee to finish.
  • I bough my first aubergine so am making a roast pasta dish for tonight and with some l/o sausages (had SC saus. cass. yesterday and froze half) so am making a sausage shepherds pie as I will have oven on, this will be for tomorrow and some in freezer for ron. Once again more going in than coming out of freezers but at least I will not have to cook for quite a few evenings to come.
  • looking for suggestions on what to make with eggs. not omlette or frittata

Having a use up day, sausages from freezer stash and Dauphinois potatoes as we have loads of spuds and some cream that needs finishing up.

Did a big shop this morning, but that’s was for DS’s 21st party on Saturday- BBQ 20-30 with a dozen vegans sprinkled in the mix, have gone for all vegan sides and then just need to cook the vegan stuff separately on the day, makes it easier for me. Making a ‘pick and mix’ decorated cake and vegan brownies

Lunch was pea & ham soup but didn't eat the ham (it was tinned and just didn't like the texture!).

Dinner tonight will be a traybake of vegetables and sea bass.
