Royal Mail - Recruiting for Christmas

I'd just tell them that you won't give out any bank details until you get a job offer from them.BR 4/10/07

I got an interview too I'm quite excited. I already work for Post Office, so thats made it easier for me. You don't have to hand in the forms until the interview so you could explain to them then. Or you could phone the recruitment line-trying to find the number now...:heartpuls

Oh Rog - I am so pleased for you - when I saw you were the last poster I hoped you had an interview. One thing has been puzzling me and I don't want to poke my nose into your private affairs - I know you cannot get a Bank account but could you not have a building society account? I get my cheques from the Building Society thus saving on postal orders.
Good luck with both interviews - I don't how they would pay but is ASDA permanant rather than tem other Christmas?0 -

I had a leaflet thru the door from Royal mail offering xmas work. The recent 'events' have put me off even thinking about applying.
Good luck Rog, fingers crossed for you!

It's all to do with my bankruptcy, peb. Although I'm now discharged, I can only get a 'basic' bank account. I would, ideally, go for a Co-op 'cashminder' account, but we don't have a branch nearby. Our local Barclays have said okay - but only when I'm in employment. Just to explain - I was 'self-employed' before my bankruptcy. I signed on at the Jobcentre, which I attended religiously for about three months, but I was refused jsa on the grounds that I had been 'self-employed'. So as it was costing me £4.60 to 'sign on' (money which I didn't have) I stopped going, and spent three months in Italy (another story) so I am unemployed but not claiming benefits.
A building society account IS worth considering - thanks.
The Post office is definitely temporary - ASDA - I don't know - I just asked and they told me they would be looking for people for their 'home delivery' but I said I would consider anything. She didn't say what was on offer when she rang this morning, but the ASDA interview is first, so I can make up my mind once I know.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I had TWO attachments, free. The first was the 'Induction Booklet' which I think you're describing, and the second is an 8 page Registration form. Both need to be printed and taken to the interview.
Or are you referring to the initial registration?

All by email, so far, free. I also had trouble with setting up my initial profile because the 'password' must contain both upper and lower case letters AND include numbers. Don't know why everything needs to be so complicated.
