Royal Mail - Recruiting for Christmas

I've just been on the Royal Mail website http://royalmail.com in order to check a delivery, and saw that they are now recruiting temporary staff for the Christmas period.
It seems like reasonable money and you can, as I have, apply on line. All you need to do is to enter your postcode and they will tell you if the local sorting office is recruiting.
Hope this will be of help.

Trouble is, PaP, the companies are behaving as though the mail is being delivered normally. O2 threatened to cut me off because I hadn't paid - I have NOT seen a bill - and I had to get a postal order to pay them. I sent it off by recorded delivery, yesterday, but who knows when they'll get it?
Probably before I see the bill, though.

They certainly used to. Though of course some jobs in Royal Mail have controlled hours ie the driving jobs

Just to update - I registered, on-line, for 'Christmas Casual Work' and, today have received an email inviting me for a face-to-face interview, along with an eight page 'application form' and 'induction booklet (pdf).
I was given the choice of 'interview dates' - the first being the 29th of October (which, needless to say, I have 'opted for').
I need to take photo id, plus a 'passport' style photograph.
One concern, though. They ask for Bank Account Details for paying wages. As I don't have a Bank Account at the moment I wondered if it was best to give details of my wife's account, although I'm a bit wary of doing this unless I am actually offered the job.
    Any thoughts, anyone - please?

It must be a good day today, because ASDA phoned this morning (I left application form with them last week) and invited me to an interview next Tuesday.

Hopefully things could be looking up.
