I got a jersey John Lewis top and an Autograph cardigan yesterday.

It was the monthly rugby scrum a.k.a. 'jumble sale' at our local hospice today. Almost didn't go as the weather was horrid but rather glad I did now. Found a 'Pure Collection' 100% silk, collarless, long-sleeved shirt in a blush/oyster shade. Still with tags on and with a little envelope with spare buttons, pure silk thread and a sewing needle! Had a feeling it was an expensive one due to the finish and feel of the fabric. Just found one on Poshmark originally selling for $170 and similar ones on the Pure website average £120. Everything in the jumble sale was £1 :j

Somewhat elated I sauntered on to the community shop and they had a box of sewing bits and pieces all priced at 25p so I picked up a card of various widths of elastic, 10m in total and 2 packs of sewing needles. An excellent 75p's worth :)

That blouse looks lovely, and a fab colour to wear with anything.
But please, please, please tell me that you're not going to wear it like the model in your link.

    "wear as a sleep shirt"?
    Really?
    What a waste!

Would look fab with leggings and ankle boots or more dressy slimline black trousers.

Miro you are the best dressed woman in my imagination... although there is some competition in the coat & handbag rounds.

Brought home an armful of Denby (o what a shock) country cuisine from mind in Huddersfield but startled my family by walking away from Denby Bokhara from a hospice shop in Brighouse. That I could turn my back on Denby baroque was held as sensible - the shop wanted £90 for a 4 person set & that was dubbed “antique shop pricing”! [Fightin’ talk from the Dig chaps!]

In Huddersfield rspca I got ten cards for 50 pence (& went rogue on Babar the elephant...) They had a lot of classic/vintage hardbacks & I resisted the temptation to rehome several bags full. Just. Largely as the church across the way had boxes out, priced at your donation & so snaffled some childhood friends.

Himself found a Mennonite cookbook, and I have to say the recipe for fruitcake (dark) has my full attention... Must buy figs & inspect spice collection thoughtfully.

Himself picked up a jar to use as a humidor but it lacks the three pronged screw tight metal bit (& you try putting that into eBay or google!) I recognised it as unstamped Langley Princessware (1903-1930) & he groused “it’s yours then” but (a) no stamps, (b) the sole inscribed marking isn’t in my book & (c) I can _share_...
  • Found a lovely eastex navy jacket for £4 at CS. This brilliant find means I can send the more expensive jacket back to the catalogue company.
