Pollcat, I missed your helpful yesterday.
Yes I have some nice tan suede ankle boots, you may be right about black footwear making it look more brown!
if I dye it I risk doubling the cost to me and possibly not being able to wear it all.
I think I'll wear it as it is, but drop the brown buttons.
If it makes me feel miserable then I will re donate it or dye it.
TBH, I wouldn't dye it either - although the Dylon link seems to say wool can be dyed and so can viscose.
I'd maybe put gold buttons on the sleeves.
The tan suede ankle boots sound perfect - and will lift the colour.
Could you wear a gold scarf in the funnel neck?

I wouldn't pay £7.50 for a New Look (or similar) dress but it doesn't sound too bad for Jaeger - and I love tunic dresses with thick tights and ankle boots.

Went to Otley this afty specifically to try to get more of the curtain lining remnants that the 20p shop has been selling lately. (Been 'commissioned' to make some dustbags for a friend who also collects vintage handbags.) Got a couple of nice big pieces and then noticed that the shop was now selling lots more clothing than in the past. Had a quick rummage and found a black fine jersey dress by 'Soon', (is that Matalan?), knee length, long sleeves and a kind of Empire line frontage with black beading under the bazooms and round the wrists. Thought it would be a bit clingy but for 20p well worth a wager. Fits just fine and looks good on but some of the beads are loose and one large lozenge type one is missing in the middle so will have to strategically rearrange the rest to cover for the absentee. :p

Soon is indeed one of Matalan's brands.

I've got a couple of nice jersey dresses.

20p ? See, that's simply unheard of in my neck of the woods.
Maybe just as well or be buying nonstop!

Me too! I gave up slips for years but they really help with how things hang.

My memories of slips are of the unpleasant nylon and static variety :o

I found a book that I P'Inned last summer - had no plans to venture into the chazzer when I woke up this morning but was mysteriously drawn to it this evening - in perfect condition for 99p. It retails for £16.99 and certainly looks BN!

Do they still make those anti-static slips, (think that's what they were called)? I have a few ordinary half slips in cotton and also in synthetic satin but they seem to make the 'cling' worse. :(

Had 15 minutes to kill in town yesterday and picked up a couple of things. BNIP M&S ultrasoft knee high socks in black, 2 pairs, price on packet £8, I paid £1.99, they are very soft and will be good under trousers. BN tube of Bumble & Bumble Don't Blow It, this is a £23 hair product and I paid 99p for it, very pleased as my current styling cream (same brand but different product) is almost done.

Lastly I got a BN can of Rituals Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom foaming shower gel, this is £8.50 on Look Fantastic, I paid £1, I love this brand and was very pleased to spot this.
