Awww good luck! Harrogate chazza's tend to be good quality but pricy usually. Do let us all know how you get on!0 -
Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster! I'll start off with my confession: I've got a serious chazzer shop habit........looks like I'm in good company!
I live in the Midlands and have an abundance of charity shops in my area, which I frequent on a regular basis and am on first name terms with my more local establishments! My fave is a Barnardos shop where the manager has a sensible approach to pricing and everything is very reasonable and the stock changes rapidly. There's also an Air Ambulance shop where everything is £1.00, and a BHF and a hospice shop which are both a bit pricier. Current purchases include:
Red herring print dress, in navy, red and white and a Gap grey and white stripey dress £2.99 each.
An Indigo at M&S cross body bag £1.00
Next nude wedge sandals like brand new £3.00
George at Asda black and white patterned skirt, quick thick material and great for work, plus 2 F&F short sleeved tops for work all £2.99 each.
Pretty pleased with my haul xx0 -

just revisiting this for a reason:Thought about you yesterday.
Saw a set of 6 Manor Green small square dishes - approx 4" x 5" - in the local hospice shop that I thought would be nice for when we have 'picky bits' like different olives, sundried tomatoes etc.
How much?
£15 for the set!
What would you have done?DigForVictory wrote: »Inspected every piece carefully and decided that once I get The Drawer unstuck that I probably already have a very similar set, 4 big flanked by 4 half-size, all rectangular but with a slightly octagonal sense at the corners. I am explaining it dreadfully - but it was my grandmother's, which is why I am being very cautious about opening the drawer it has got stuck in.
If you get a hysterical tear-stained pm, please go back & acquire same that I may continue to honour the beloved lady's memory?!
I've been back in today and they were priced at £9.00 for the 6.
Checked carefully for cracks & nibbles and they are perfect - gob-smacking for crockery almost 100 years old.
So I bit the bullet.
I may leave them to you in my will.
From the same shop, I also bought a pair of BNWT F&F maroon crushed velour leggings for £4.00.
Not sure how much they would have been originally (maybe £15.00?) but I'm in dire need of leggings to wear in the house and refuse to buy new Primark ones as they always seem to come undone at the crotch (sorry if TMI).
So I'll upgrade these for 'going out' and down grade an older pair for dossing about in.0 -

Today I found my plastic scoop, for all of 25p. I walked into a chazzer just knowing it would be there (was disappointed last time I went), opened a drawer in the bric-a-brac section, and voilà!
Also a couple of smart work blouses for just £1 each.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I am soooo cross with myself!!!
First thing this morning I called into the BHF shop in Ambleside and spotted a Stellar jug/pan thing in the same range as my set of pans. Priced at £6.99 I deemed it overpriced and left it. Thought about it all day and decided to go back for it as I have always wanted this one....gone of course! She who hesitates loses out:mad:0 -

Are you sure that's a sweetie scoop? It likes it it might have been used for cat litter
Still, I'm sure it'll clean up
The stripey blazer was actually £12.99 and I succumbed. The red is quite dark and I think with a dark blue shirt and green tie it'll be rather dashing for the work's Christmas outing to Morrisons caff.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
I thought the blazer looked like a cricket club one.All that clutter used to be money0
