anything that saves you cash is in no way cheating It was bought to be eaten and just because its still in the cupboard it is there to be eaten
I too have a large stash of tins, dry goods lentils spices etc which I use to extend anything I buy
Today was Day 15 of the month, and this morning I went shopping and spent £18.90 for my 'big' shop I restocked on fresh fruit and veg which had run pretty low and also bought to restock stuff I had run out of.
I am eating from my freezer for meat, fish etc this month as I am doing my best to use up the stuff in there for the purpose of which it was originally bought
In my food purse I have left from my £60.00 budget for January a total of £41 10 and 16 more days until the end of the month.
Very slightly over the pound a day cost, but I have enough in stock to keep me going for at least another 7-10 days so maybe I will get through january on targetfingers crossed chums

It really is doable . i have to look at it as i have months of certain items so although certain costs have been higher . I have stockpiled when the prices are at (hopefully the lowest).£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

With £1 a day I’m assuming that’s only for 1 person? So a family of 4 would be £4 a day? £30ish a week? Wow! That’s hard!Living the simple life0

Sorry pushed the button too soon!!
I’m not sure if I could manage that? I shop very well and do £300 a month for 4 of us and 2 cats which I thought was amazing! I’m GF and don’t buy any fancy stuff apart for the odd bag of pasta or store cupboard things that I use for cooking but everyone else is fine and eats really well?
You have inspired me to try and lower it a bit more and maybe work in cash and see if it’s cheaper? I do go out less which is good as no wandering aimlessly around the shops!Living the simple life0 -
Yes the £1 a day is for 1 person but i do have friends over lol.
Spent 14p on milk which triggered 2x £5 vouchers to spend in Morrisons
spent 1. on random items like bic razors/alpen bars/some ice cream... spent 18p over the £5 so total 32p added to signature. Still have anther voucher but keeping until i need rather than buying random stuff. I only needed the razors
The plus side to being just me i can normally find some time to do yellow sticker reduced shopping. However a lot of food plans i look at work out better budget wise for familys. The blogs such as thriftylesley look great. I don't have a lot of the stockpile items but maybe worth you looking ?£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

saving it for a much needed day  its just annoying -hit with over £180 tax . My previous job paid about 300 a month more ans i was on about 50 tax so didn't expect it .Fingers crossed it will be sorted soon.
Missed out on amazing reduced stuff yesterday - before work was too early for it and after was too late :P . will use my voucher next week to stock up on longer life milk etc£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

nsd yesterday but a friend did buy me reduced chicken from £3 down to 15p
Cant talk enough about getting yellow stickers .its really been a saviour
so todays meal plan
breakfast - porridge - i haven't worked out the cost of this per serving but the bag cost is included in what i have spent this year
lunch - chicken- 3.75p
dinner chicken salad and chopped tom - this will be tommorws lunch aswell . cost was 10p for the salad and 30p for tin tomatoes - 23.75p
I then have enough chicken left for a sandwich on sunday .
3.75p cost per serving chicken ,5p salad cost per serving and 15p per serving tinned tomatoes.
Friday cost 27.5p plus tea and coffee/serving cost of the porridge. i do also have cake but as it was my birthday this was bought for me *40p yellow stickr lol down from £8. so 10p per serving of that .
I also have the juice from the chicken in a container ,thinking if i get reduced veg would make a base for soup?£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

I’m confused by the costing you have? How are you working it out?
Tin tomatoes 30p - 23.75p?
Sorry if I’m being thick but I may have missed something!Living the simple life0
