I use these apps quite a bit and they've saved me quite a bit over the past couple of years, including quite a lot of grocery freebies.
Shopmium
CheckOutSmart
ClickSnap (via Quidco)
TopCashback (groceries section of app for weekly offers)
Green Jinn
I also use OLIO app occasionally for free food from cafes etc which would otherwise go to waste, but availability varies hugely depending on which area you live.
Never tried the last 2.:j in the process of reactivating my topcashback . I like the sound olio - not just for me but i live in an area with loads of cafes and a slight homeless issue£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

You've still done well mar-i-ella. £1 a day for everything was always going to be a tough call.
Different people have different circs.
My hair costs me zero every year, as does both kids (teenagers) and mostly my husband. That's everyone with their hair-cut and mine dyed for nothing. Sounds great doesn't it, till I point out my Mum is a hairdresser and she does the families hair for free including buying my hair dye. She won't take any money for it, she told me last year she felt really bad about it as I'd gone to a hairdressers for a trim - at the time Mum was recovering from having a broken hip and hip replacement! Husband occasionally goes to the barbers which is where some cost comes in.
Keep going, love reading your posts
Very well done :j I'm still quite happy with it because of all the extras ive gained - particularly the cupboards£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

I'm not joining in, but I do keep all my receipts. I have a pot and my receipts go in it when I get home, so I just got them out and did a spreadsheet.
I've mostly been eating food I brought into the house in December as it doesn't take long for it to accumulate!
I'm confused by the thread as to "what's included/what's not" so I'll just say that I've spent £22 on the following:
£10 food
£3 drinks (fizzy pop)
£1 chocolate/sweeties
£5 going out/eating out (last night/pub meal & drink)
£3 misc household items (bleach, nail clippers, microfibre cloths)
I don't have access to Asda/Morrisons and what seems to be endless opportunities to get YS or "cheat the system" with certain purchases, so everything I buy has to pretty much always be "at full price". It'd cost me £2 just to get to an Asda/Morrisons perchance I was lucky.0 -
Aldi's have UHT milk at 49 per litre and I think Tesco's do it as well. I spent £10.42 today so along with the £18.80 I spent about 10 days ago my monthly spends have amounted to £29.22.But I did have quite a lot of left overs from my Dds when I came home in the New Year, and my freezer was quite full to the brim with stuff I have bunged in there No more shopping for me for at least another 10 days. In February there are only 28 days and I am out for 12 of them so only 16 dinners to find which won't be hard as I do still have quite a lot of frozen stuff in store plus my tinned good and basic food cupboards are full as well. So I am pleased that I have come in £1.78 under the £31.00 for January
Onwards and upwards

Never been much of a aldi shopper - when i do comparisons most of what i buy is the same in asda/morrisons, especially with morrisons as i get 10% staff discount 3408ml milk-£1.34 after discount . Think i might try with these though and say use 1 a week- its not like i can keep a 6pint open in the fridge for that time so hopefully will save.. The other thing i think will do is leave my purse at home- maybe apart from ike £2 for emergency yellow stickerd bargains - i had a customer get £10-£15 gammon joints for 52p each !! needless to say they took them all.
Aim for a spend free beginning of week unless i make it to aldi for milk. Also thinking about doing the receipt wombiling rounds tonight and sunday morning as pay weekend - get back into my mse ways :P£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

Only taking enough with you to cover what you buy is a good way to cut backand not going near any shops unless you really need to is also goodI dislike shopping and crowds anyway so I find only shopping 2-3 times a month is fine . Buying essentials only, and sticking as close as possible to my shopping list helps as well.
I have been using UHT aldi's milk for months and its fine, as I live alone and am out quite a lot a litre more than does me for a week If I make a rice pudding I use a tin of evaporated milk and a large tin of evaporated milk makes around a pint and three quartes of milk so I can top it up to two pints and make either a one pint pudding plus a pint of custard, or a big two pint pudding which does in the fridge for several days as a dessert.good job I enjoy rice pudding
but at lunchtime a bowl of HM soup, a couple of crackers (I don't eat bread at all )and a portion of rice pudding fills anyone up
I like cinnamon and sultanas in a rice pudding.
I am out tonight with one of my DDs for a curry, so I will only have a light lunch/snack or I wouldn't enjoy my night out and our local curry house seems to give enormous portions
well done ma-ri-ella on your efforts to spend less and hopefully as you are stocked up you will stay away from the shops:)

I expect you reciprocate in some respect for your Mum's kindness. We all do stuff for each other. Having said that, my family members mostly pay for the stuff I do for them, or at least try! I do garment alterations and repairs, which as you can imagine is a valuable Oldstyle skill if you are trying to watch the pennies![SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. dig out the tins of stuff from the cupboards and put them on the side in the kitchen ,perhaps by the kettle so you can see whats there to be used up helps no end I too am eating my way through my food mountain as I have far too much in stock, so aim to only buy strict essentials at the moment No shopping for me if I can help it0

Day 5 no spend but planning yellow sticker trips after work. I have a free bag of mcains peri peri fries through cashback so going to asda- the cashback app always pays back really quickly to paypal. I do always include the total to start with then when it goes into paypal that's my emergency fund money - otherwise known as etsy lol.
Made up a pasta dish .
90p- sausage cost . tin of tomatoes 25p pasta-not sure was value range - would say around 1.20 - 1.30 cost altotgher .serves 4 -30pish per serving . Only thing is will be eating it for days :P
Breakfast wise - working through the cereals that are open plus the "free" muller corners - a little scared to step on the scales to be honest .work clothes still fit
Happy no spending everyone !£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am
