When you eventually open that purse of yours, a hundred spiders will be homeless.:rotfl:
Well done you!
This made me chuckle so much - When we had our boiler serviced the man said “how old is your boiler” i said its over 30 years old. He then proceeded to ask if it had ever been serviced in that time because there were hundreds if not thousands of dead spiders in the casing. :rotfl::rotfl: When I said it had been 18 months he was visibly shocked  and said he had never seen anything like it in his life. Not one to be afraid of spiders personally but i was so glad they were dead!Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

The challenge seems to have taken a battering this week . I just need to tell myself it will average out over the days.. the cupboard is full, there are still some essentials i need but i could do without them .

Hiya All
the title makes this sound great but I think ma-ri-ella's challenge is harder because I was trying v hard to use up a pantry with many OD items that had been gathered over 20 years as part of preparation to move house - and I was saving money to pay for the removals people.
Advantages that I had were:
1) The £5 did not include entertainment I had a separate £10 budget for that (thanks for this idea Jackie O)
2) On my way home later at night was a Morrisions - who do 2 price reductions - one down to about 1/3 of the cost and then a second one each day to pence for each item so it will register on the till. I could often go in there and spend £1 and come out with 15 items
3) I had a freezer into which said items could go to be kept until needed
4) My vast pantry (so flour; rice; pearl barley; cans of tomaotes; cans of beans baked and without sauce; tuna; mackrel; herbs and spices etc etc)
5) my medicinal needs were taken out of the Happy Cash Stash
6) one of the great things from Morrisons locally was fresh fruit and veg on YS
7) the £5 figure did not include Direct Debits for fuel/car insurance/gas and electric/council tax etc
ma-ri-ella - I really thing you need to consider :money: Martin's Mantra - do I need it; will I use it. I would try to get yourself, as others have said, a stock cupboard of basics such as flour, butter, eggs, baing powder, rice and pasta. Please, please dont let this challenge make you ill - ensure you buy and eat all the fresh fruit and veg you can - while supermarkets can be v cheap (Lidil have differnt fruit/veg on offer every week for about 50p each a bag; Aldi also; and Asda) there are also markets to get fruit and veg from but consider, carefully, will I eat this before it goes off? DO I need any more of XYZ ( in your case beans! :rotfl: )
5 a day is possible on the way I did my £5 per week challenge. but its not for everyone! (And yes, no doubt someone will say I cheated - but it saved me money!)
