I am also popping in to say hello and hope all is good with youDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Hi Karma, long time lurker here popping in to say I’m missing your updates and hope you are doing OK. We were dealing with our carpet moth infestation last weekend and for some reason it kept making me think of your ants!Hope you are still getting out for your walks, engaging in your groups, and continuing experimentation with rather delicious sounding cake recipies!1

Thank you all so much for the messages of support, they've been lovely to read. I’ve come back for the first time today, to round things off, really. I left in some pain, those of you who’ve posted will remember, and maybe others too, and it took until after Christmas, as I thought it might, to get things balanced again. Acute attacks of chronic fatigue are no joke, weird as that sentence looks.
Then I let things slip – I had normal life stuff going on like catsitting, plus I fulfilled the dream of the last few years and bought a car, a lovely little thing; its been hard to adjust, because I re-learned on an EV, and finances dictated I bought a petrol engined car. But I’m finally getting used to driving, more or less, I have a holiday coming up, and I’ve been working on tree pruning so my garden gets better light.
So I’ve made the time to sit down and think what I want to do. And I think that’s to sign off for now, as I did once before back in 2010: I came back after that, of course! And I don’t know what I’ll do in the future, but for now, thank you so much to this community for all the help over the years. I hope I’ve been a positive contributor here as well sometimes.
All the best.

Always, unfailingly helpful and positive, encouraging and compassionate. We will miss you so much if you don't come back, but sometimes, things change and people change. I just want to thank you personally, for all the help, over the years, and I wish you well. xSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
