Thanks starnac!  Yep, you're so right - unsanitary is the middle name of all of them 🤣🤗🤗🤗 but still lots of hugs.

Today ... a *weird* amount of resting, I actually didn't get up till 9am, though I was reading twitter a bit (well, looking at photos of #sophiefromromania).  Still raining now, and I haven't done a thing on any list, I honestly haven't.  Just watching a recorded film.

    So, today, I will definitely:
    - make sure I can put the dishwasher on this evening.
    - back up the computer, after tidying a few photos I need to download from my camera.
    - it's raining now, but I'd like a bit of weeding to get done.  If it stays this wet, I might actually .... woo! .... put an exercise tape in the dvd player and give it a go 🤣
    - find the nice thick curtain tape and at least pin it on, the handsewing has been done on both the curtain tops.

    ...Children are so unsanitary
We have one of those in the office today!  I must admit she was really cute a couple of years ago when she knew ALL the rules of hygiene & mask-wearing...

...let's just say she's now forgotten them all so I'm quite happy she is staying at her Mom's desk and not coming to visit and spreading the germs!

Urk, sorry to hear that, RT :(   At least the rellie who may have infected my sister is still only 20 months old.  A pandemic baby, not due to mask, if such were decreed again, for a good few years.  I hope your office-based day is going well.

Still raining here, so I might well end up doing an exercise tape in a while - late lunch for me right now.

Pinned on the first curtain tape - I'd already sewn the ends of the tape, ready for another set of curtains, and thank heavens they're slightly too long rather than too short, so I just need to cut off one end of the tape and bind it again.  I should be able to do that today, and hopefully get started on the tacking.

Yes I do miss the days when hand washing and mask wearing when not 100% was still the done thing. Shame it's all slid back again now. We still wear masks in public if we have a cold/cough as you never know who we might come into contact with but it's a small minority that do.

That being said, little ones can't really help spreading their germs but it's a difficult time when they are coming home with something new every week

Absolutey, starnac, tiddlers have always spread their germs far and wide - I'm from a family of teachers, I remember it well!

I mask in enclosed spaces - though when we went to the National Portrait Gallery a few weeks ago, neither of us wore masks.  It felt quite airy, and high ceilinged, and not very crushed-together, if you know what I mean.  And when I've been out for a full day like that, especially when my head is leaning against something used by someone else, I wash my hair, and wash my clothes.  It's a thing now, I really don't want to get it again.

And its *still* raining!  That's literally all day.  Gah!

Me too & mostly primary school.  I remember the first couple of weeks of the summer holidays were taken up by teachers collapsing in a heap with all sorts of infections & my mother (the boss) never booking holidays for the first 2 weeks of the summer holiday.  But when my father caught nits!!

Ooh, I've just read through the last month of your diary, you've been doing loads of things! Lovely to see so many things getting ticked off, and driving lessons going well too.

You reminded me about the Amazon £5 - annoyingly I got it, applied it to my account, dithered about what to buy - and then ended up not buying anything and forgot about it, and now the deadline has passed. Pah!

I had my £5 automatically applied to a suscribe&save order without even knowing it!  Good thing to, as I'd forgotten completely about it once it was redeemed! Cheap vitamins for the month, something that gets used regularly so not complaining :)

What a shame!  When I clicked, it looked like it wasn't there, but they applied it when they listed what they'd be taking from my credit card.  Odd system, possibly to encourage slightly unnecessary sales, but it worked.  Sorry it didn't for you.

And lovely to see you, by the way!  I'm being a bit energetic at the moment, so I'm trying to make the most of it 🤣🤗

I'm glad you got it, RT - regular use, or something you'd buy anyway, it's really ideal.

This morning, I've had confirmation from bro that he's coming down for a week - he stays with my sister, frankly it's more comfortable there  :#  and she's still not well, so I'm trying to look at places we might go - still spoilt for choice, in spite of living here so long - and thinking what I can bake that's edible for *other* people, not just me.  These walnut cake things are great, but my sister doesn't like nuts.  I do remember doing a classic Victoria cake last year that was okay, so I might try that again over the weekend.  And I might well be going to the British Museum on my own (which means I pay for my ticket, I don't get a free ride on her membership 🤣) but I'd rather go than not.

My house needs to be tidy!  Even if I'm just a waystop when they collect me to go somewhere, everything needs to be accessible and able to be used by others.  A used waterbottle and tubes of sanitiser I've been emptying into a big squeezy one have been sitting around for *weeks* - time to shift them!  That's the sort of thing I let drift, and chaos soon envelops me 🤣

I'm going to carry on working with the curtains, though - obviously, I didn't get done what I *said* I was going to do 😏 such is life.  And now the dishwasher's finished, I'll put some polenta on.  I might also frighten the life out of myself and cut the grass at the bottom of the garden 🤣🦊
