Ooh, that's excellent about the 1921 census - I'll have to investigate that at my library. Enjoy your expedition!
Thanks!  I think I'm going to have to wait for a bit, maybe till Friday.  Healthy Walks tomorrow, and I missed it last week so I could rest after the London trip - I *have* to go!  Can't do it the same day as the walk. Thursday is a phone chat with sister and a zoom thing, the last one my U3A are doing.

Library website wanted a password, which I never had, so I rang them - they really are lovely.  They've emailed me an instruction about how to download this new app and get going.  My reasoning is that if I can do that, the card will probably work on the computer.  And there's modern fiction to read, after all.  Free books on kindle can only take you so far 😎

How long has YG been? When it was money it tended to be a 30 days thing - is it meant to be quicker now?
Oops.  I requested it on 30th June - and I don't know its supposed to be quicker 🙄🙄🙄  that might be a mea culpa then.  Oh well, its only an email, and I was polite and all :) beanielou said:
It seems a long time since you mentioned getting to YG payout  :(
It does to me too, beanie!  I was surprised when I saw the date of 30th June on the website 😏

Other than that, things are going well - slow cooker lentils look fine, maybe have pasta and a bit of mixed frozen veg with it?

Washbasin faff, as well as cleaning the bath, accomplished - fished some gunk out of the plughole, disgusting as ever, dishwasher tab is down there now, hopefully disintegrating and making things lovely :) though there's something I was beginning to suspect - some of this is self inflicted, in my heavy handed use of hand sanitiser  :o:o:o

Slightly odd texting this morning - the intrusive woman who wouldn't stop talking.  She seemed to want a conversation, and when I answered truthfully her question of how I cope with the barking dog next door ("ignore him and turn up the sound on the tv") she didn't text again.  I didn't realise for about an hour, oops, but really, she's full of agendas about how I should live my life, and the dog was one of them, so its just as well.  We can chat safely about spaceflight in the U3A group, and that's that.  Bound to happen when you're trying to get out and meet new people.

And now - cuppa tea, and working on the garden.  Not sure if it'll be the grass at the back, or the front border, but something.

I'm intrigued about the dishwasher tablet's effectiveness - do report back.

Re the woman, I know exactly what you mean. Previously had an Olio 'friend', but I've had to cut off contact with her - she was very intrusive and dictatorial and wanted to know everything, and yet was exceedingly coy about her own life. I think she didn't have a lot going on and was probably in an unhappy marriage which was sad for her, but I didn't need her toxicity in my life. It wasn't just me either, she was the same with my actual Olio/cat friend (and treated Olio locally as if she owned it!). Another Olio friend now who can be a bit needy, but she's lovely with it and just a bit lonely I think - Olio/cat friend and I have a Whatsapp group with her, so it feels less to deal with. As you say, these things happen when you put yourself out there to meet new people! (And Olio/cat friend (this is such a weird 'title'!) is a friend for life, so it's worth the effort sometimes!).

I'd be interested to hear about the dishwasher tablet too.

Shame about your friend. I have a similar one. She only messages me when she wants to complain about something or wants me to side with her over something. She's just lonely so I reply politely but don't get pulled into any of the drama.

Afternoon all :) Well, I'm not doing too badly, but I'm perhaps over-emphasizing the computer today 🤣 so it's about to get shut down, finally!
    - French money is there to be brought over, but I didn't get round to it today.
    - phone call with sister.
    - YG answered!  They sent me the voucher on 30th June  :open_mouth: but have offered to resend it, so I'll be careful with my emails for a few days.
    - the neverending tidying, though not very much of it 🤣
    - been sorting out another section of genealogy: the brothers and sisters of one of my great-great grandfathers 🙄
    - cooking with 2 types lentils, onion, barley and tomato puree has been a great success, though possibly I shouldn't have it 4 days in a row 🤣 I should have frozen more than I did!

    To come today:
    - checking whether the sweet potatoes in the fridge are still edible, and cooking if so, or throwing out.
    - coconut loaf cake?  Lots of flour used up, that would be good.
    - another dishwasher tab down the bathroom sink.  More hot water already sent down, and I'll do more.
    - get the recycling bin outside for collection early tomorrow morning.
    - probably have a walk.  The dog barking is at its worst from now till about 8pm, and its just started up.

Hope everyone's having a good day.

It's a fairly healthy recipe, especially as I lessen the amount of sugar I use (and I'm using dark brown sugar right now anyway) and it uses up some of the flour I've had in storage for a million years.

Went out for a lovely walk this morning, adjacent to an NT site, though I'm having difficulty in doing anything at all now 🤣  I can't go out into the garden because there are **four** foxes out there sunning themselves 🦊🦊🦊🦊❤ though they get scared by the dog barking next door.  And I'm even having difficulty in switching on the dishwasher.  Lazy, moi?  Bien sure 🤣🤣🤣

It's great, isn't it!  It's raining today, so they've disappeared.  When I reclaim my phone from my handbag, I'll see if I can find a photo where they're all clear - one was sleepy, one was wanting to play and the others were just hanging out.

    P'tit peu 😉

Anyway, I wasn't lazy today 😁 Spaceflight group, but the loud friend who joined was ill, so I sent her best wishes, and the group leader picked me up and brought me back as per usual.  Showered and shampooed now, as per usual, free to gather my energy for the driving lesson tomorrow.  Though a good thing to do might be to take a little bit of exercise, much later on, by using the hedge clippers on the front garden - even 20 or 30 minutes will help me sleep, and the green bin is being collected tomorrow.

Otherwise today, it's ordinary domestic stuff and the green bin as above, plus probably genealogy sorting.  Proper MSE stuff is for later in the week.
