Karmacat said:...Rain! Good grief, rarely seen the like. With thunder & lightning...
...There are lots of actual telegrams, the physical telegrams, from when my dad worked in Canada in the 1950s, it'd be nice to get them scanned and shared with bro and sister...
I'm loving the thought of telegrams from Canada - I need to remind my Ma of this form of communication next time she moans about having to Wha7sapp - LOL4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Your weather sounds far more dramatic than ours! We had some moderately heavy rain first thing this morning, but no thunder or lightning and nothing too heavy either (for which I'm glad as there was washing on the line and the roof of my car was ajar!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Wow, RT, that's really something - I hope you didn't have the tingling thing that comes from getting a bit too close to lightning?
The telegrams are great! I haven't looked today yet, but there's a lot there - he hurt his back lumberjacking 😁 I'm really not kidding, and it was sort of a medical evac 😮
Madvix, in spite of how heavy our rain was, I've got washing out on the line right now. It's still very overcast, but not raining, and there's a pleasant breeze. Even another hour would be great.
Jobs list:
- genealogy info backup on the flash drive is proceeding - the old fashioned stuff takes *so* long!
- as I mentioned, the washing line is full.
- dishwasher is half packed. I'll do a HM bean mix in the slow cooker, but no chopping of onions etc, and I'm not going to cook either - I'm sleeping so badly I feel very tired, can't guarantee I'll have the energy to do what needs to be done.
- French form has been filled in as per their last set of instructions. We'll see - the French are still at lunch right now.
- dentist has been contacted. I had to register as a new patient because I haven't been during the pandemic, and I needed an emergency appointment, so ... Friday appointment, £80 plus the cost of the treatment. It is what it is!
Anything of the rest will be done as and when, if I feel like it 😁 if I get any energy back, I'll refer to this list

Well, that was a lot of fiddle faddle. Finding exactly what words I could use to fill in the pdf form electronically. Finally realise they also wanted a physical signature. But I **still** haven't got my new printer and my laptop linked up, so I couldn't do it.
In desperation, I offered a scan of my current passport, and they said yes. Just to be sure, I also sent my driving licence 🤣 that's done the trick. "Bonne fin de journee" is a lovely way of saying that's it, we're done, carry on
Slow cooker is heating up, beans are doing their ten minute stint at boiling point. Lentils and barley ready to go in, so there'll be some variety in "a portion" after all. Might use pickled onions already opened so I get some alliums in me.

I had a day out yesterday 🤗 to a town about 5 miles away where my Brixton friend was on a training course. Met up just after 4, so had a couple of hours before she needed to get back home, and I'd found a nice pub with a very open beer garden right by the railway station. it all felt very safe, very reassuring, though to be honest with the chronic fatigue issues, I feel terrible today. But it was brilliant to see her.
Today, I have to just footle around at home, I have the emergency dental appointment tomorrow, 2pm, so I need all my energy for that. The foxes are back, finally 🦊🦊 so I'll watch out for them again2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

As I said, doing very little today - just making sure that everything's ready for me to enrol properly at the dentist, get the emergency work done if I can, stagger back home, shower, and slump into bed! Clothes, shoes, food, hot water, duvet is floofed. I'm trying not to faff around by focussing a little bit on the genealogy again - can't find the telegrams exchanged while my dad was being invalided back to the UK, though I know they're here somewhere. But I found his letters instead - just getting them into order is quite a big deal, he was away a long time.
YG - nearly there! 90 more points needed for a tax-free £50. And I'm binge-watching Staged in the meantime, I only watched S2 originally, and I'm just about to start on S3. Entered some Waitrose comps too 😁 holidays and garden BBQs, ha.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
I haven't seen S3. I'll have to look that up.

I really like the format, and I like them. Fascinating seeing their real live partners in this "heightened" reality, I confess 🤣
