Ooh, sounds like a lovely trip to the seaside! What fun. Sorry about your pesky knee though, hope it clears up soon. I quite agree about tidying making space for other projects - in my case both physical and head space!  Not always easy to keep on top of... I spent a couple of hours sorting out my filing cabinet etc at the office yesterday and it felt great - now need to continue pottering and sorting out bits of the house!

On sewing videos, I've fairly recently discovered Bernadette Banner. She's not a practical sewing tips channel, she makes historically accurate clothes but I absolutely LOVE watching her videos 😊 She made a Mary Poppins dress, not the one from the film, but one that would have been more accurate for the time period. She also has several videos rating films for the accuracy of their costumes 😂 can't remember if you like Game of Thrones or not, but I really enjoyed her video talking about the costumes in that.

Absolutely right, I'm dying to do it again :) I'm seeing family over Easter (Christmas was delayed due to illness) and I have bits and bobs on the go, but another trip later in the month would be great.

Once I thought about it, it makes complete sense, of course - I'm glad you found that too.  And yes, its filing as well!  One part of my filing is untouched - client files.  But in September of this year, I'll have been retired for 7 years, and its legally okay to dispose of them.  My cross-shredder will be busy for a good while.  That'll be quite a step.

Thanks for that!  I love Game of Thrones, seriously, so I'll definitely be watching some of her stuff.  I'm also reading the Outlander novels, which makes a big issue about historical accuracy, especially clothes, medicine and firearms, and it really pulls you in.

I am currently reading the first outlander novel again having only got as far as the second in the series previously.  My mother absolutely loves them.  I’m not as convinced - perhaps because the main character is so strong and self reliant which I find difficult to relate to?  I just haven’t warmed to her.

Ramouth, I need to relate to characters as well - I was in a very quiet time the first time I read Outlander, and I lasted long enough to get through to other themes in the book.  But I understand anyone who didn't!  I'm skimming in this re-reading - a bit too much detail, even though some details are really interesting, pulling me in as I say :)

Anyway, negotiations all done with assorted sundry folk, my sister and I have an AirBNB booked - Chatham Dockyard, and Brogdale Fruit Collections, as well as a few other things, here we come, quite soon :) An ordinary little end of terrace house (ie taking over a house meant for residents :( ) but with a bathroom each, which is what we like.

I tried to get some washing out on the line, and it got a bit wet 🙄 so it's in the bathroom with the window open, shouldn't add to any mould problems in the house.

YG survey done, it was actually interesting - 4,600 points or so now, not long till the £50.  I also won £3 on the baby HW today, even on a new game that I didn't understand 🤣

The whole house is really, really filthy - my knee is making it difficult to move, and it needed a vacuum when I did it (I used the dustpan and brush as a quick fix, and my knee took it amiss) so all I'm doing today is getting ready for the Easter do, and maybe looking after my circulation with some arm exercises, and that will be that.  Huh.

Really sorry to hear about your knee. It sounds ever so much like bursitis (inflammation of the sack of fluid that sits in front of your joint of thigh and shin bones, to cushion your knee cap - AKA housemaid's knee) - it is quite common for this to happen if you have been kneeling (weeding) or originally twisted it and have been compensating - in which case it needs RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) and possibly anti-inflammatory gel or tablets, if you can have these

Thank you SL!  I wasn't quite sure what to do, or how serious it might be, but that absolutely sounds like what's happening.  I'm stocked up with ibuprofen, I have little trays to make ice cubes, I can do that.  Ta muchly.

Ouch! I've had housemaid's knee (or, in my case, carpet fitter's knee 😂) and it is NOT pleasant. But it does get better, so if it is that, have hope! 😊
