Always glad to know possibiities, badmemory, thank you. As you say, if it comes down to £1k, it won't affect me, but it might come down further - I'll keep an eye on it, ta muchly.
I did the three little things I wanted to do: bin out, Christmas deccies away (there were very few of them really) and clearing out the floor of the living room.
I need to step back tomorrow morning and figure out my aims for February, taken from the big list I made on my phone2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Last layer of living room floor cleaning achieved: secondary layer of vinyl (early floor insulation!) and actual rug moved out of the way of the site of the new sofa. And bits and bobs moved too - the last shopping in the porch cleaned, DVDs I wanted to sort, a rarely used lamp, the odd ornament, anything that can get out of the area where the delivery guys will be, it's gone upstairs. Nothing particularly useful is getting done, I'm in that "I don't want to start a new project right now" stage 🙄 so I'm going to do another sweep around the bottom floor and check.
It's a Friday. Maybe I'll just be luxurious and read my meters 🤣2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -

Excellent, really excellent start to the weekend - all family doing well, in every sense. Happiness is all.
I'm definitely taking the evening off, especially as I need to get up at 6am to be ready for a potential delivery at 7am 😲😲😲2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
I've been avoiding my read9ngs, I'm going to gove them end of Feb ( from October) I'm hoping the 2 free council tax months and the money I got back will be enough to cover it.
I'm kinda dreading it, not helped that Mr El left the heating on high all night .... sigh1 -
Sorry you're dreading it, El. I haven't done mine yet, either. I can't concentrate on anything at all, not evening something quick like that - I was up at 6am to be ready for the IKEA deliveries. The tiddly one's arrived - but one of the plates is missing. Only 75p, but it would have been nice to have it. No sign of the sofa!
Just had my first communication from IKEA itself - very unimpressed with them - saying they expect to bring the sofa here between 2.30 and 6.30I'm absolutely praying they get here before it's dark, I just don't want to do this in the dark. Got to find out how to tell IKEA that they lost a plate and need to reimburse me, even if it's 75p.
I'm not good at waiting like this, I feel very, very stressed.2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
I can imagine you will be, I hope ot arrives soon the last thing you need is to sort stuff in the dark, shame about the plant not arriving and quite right to get your 75p back after all they took it and didnt complete their part of the deal
Hope it arrives soon and you get some rest time2 -
Thanks El, much appreciated! After my previous post, it turns out that once Ikea are in touch, they carry on communicating, extremely well. Driver actually rang me and gave me an (accurate) arrival time. And their tracking link goes to a map with an interactive little red lorry on it 🤣 you can actually see where they are.
Since I'm not paying for the assembly, I was glad to find he didn't come in the house, and I got everything out of the cardboard and sprayed the plastic packaging piece by (very big) piece. Took me 45 minutes to drag it all into the house, I'm not doing anything else right now.

The sofa pieces are sitting in the same places as they were yesterday, but I'm still not doing anything with them: today is washing machine, a walk, and a bit of skin care, which I'm incredibly lax about. Photo admin work wouldn't come amiss either, but I have my doubts
The baby Happy Wheel has started to pay out for me again, after a very lean streak after Christmas, and I'm getting a few YG surveys too again - though now I know who gets the profits, I'm a bit doubtful!2023: the year I get to buy a car3
