I really will miss him, beanie!Ramouth said:I sometimes miss my cat when she is just in another room! But I do understand why occasional cat visitors / hosts gives you more flexibility than having one of your own. It shocks me sometimes just how much we have changed our lives to suit our small furry overlord.Watty1 said:So true. I just turned down an ideal and gorgeous place to live because the feral who now is an indoor cat and only reverts to feral when not getting her own way could not come to. Although she is an indoor cat the person suggested that her GSD would smell the cat and go berserk and it was not fair. Honestly I though finding a place to rent with 3 horses would be hard, never thought madam kitten would be the issue!!
I'm not even half done with tidying (erm, even the Christmas decorations haven't been tidied away) but I've done a lot of easy tidying, cleaned all the work surfaces in the kitchen, he walks all over them, and changed the bed, big basics like that. I'll carry on tomorrow, but I'm also going to buy my Ikea sofa tomorrow. I want to push on so I can work out my planting plan, I'm determined to do a lot better this year.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
Well, the Christmas decorations still aren't away 🤣🤣🤣 but at least I've done a huge amount of tidying, and an unexpected bit too. When I had to double up on cat litter trays for Lovely Moggie, I used a plastic crate of mine identical to the one he was using. I was keeping my first aid supplies in there 🙄 and it's now thoroughly cleaned and disinfected 😁 but I've now found that quite a few of the medications are really out of date: Lemsip expired in 2010, that sort of thing. So anything that expired before 2017 is going - I couldn't find that lemsip when I was so ill last summer, so I obviously have too much. Cardboard is all separated, and I'll take the medical/first aid stuff to a chemist. Unexpected but useful.
And the sun is shining!2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
I took a day off yesterday, except for 45 minutes work in the garden, cutting down laurel (15 feet high, can't let it get out of control), plus honeysuckle and sweetpea growing into it. The birds are done with it now.
Today:
- another 45 mins cutting back (can't garden in this weather!)
- finalise French figures for France.
- I never sent the email about the "rien a regler" invoices. Better do that.
- phone call with sister
- dishwasher on eventually.
- possibly more vacuuming, sigh. When I do the hard upper body stuff like vacuuming and lopping branches, I sleep badly because I'm aching. Annoying but true. There are worse things 😛2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Could you take some paracetamol just before bed - if it’s stopping you sleeping then I’d suggest you’re entitled to have some pain relief for it! Or better still, arnica.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks madvix - earlier this month, I took ibuprofen, which helps with inflammation too (arthritis! huh!) but I forgot, after all the faff with my first aid box. I'll take some tonight, for sure.
I caught up with the phone call, the washing machine is also on, I've sent the email in French about the "rien a regler" invoices, and listed the French figures. That's the easy bit of the French figures, though: they want to know the VAT, which my management company won't bother with, and they want to know the amount included for rubbish disposal on the tax form. Since I send them the tax form, and they charge me 500 euros for the hour or so's work they do, you'd think they could look, but apparently not 🤐 I will not be snarky, but I'm dying to 🤣
Here's a rainbow instead 🌈 and a dinosaur for good measure 🦕2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
I'm about to buy my sofa, the dark grey one I linked to, a 3 seater Parup. While I'm at it, I'm buying some shallow bowls that can stand up in the dishwasher (I broke one of my existing set ages ago, and it means I use bowls that take up much more space), plus curtain rings that I can use for a separate curtain lining in the living room - i.e. I won't have to sew the header tape to the main curtain. Total is £611.50, plus delivery, which I think is £40. I decided to be flush and order assembly services too, but its only in the big cities. And there was dodginess about the actual price too, even though it would be a huge timesaver. But if its not on offer, then I have to spend the time putting it together. I'll live! And I'll do it straight away. Scary though 🤣2023: the year I get to buy a car3
