I think you can join the U3A at 50. Depending on your retirement plans you might be able start before you retire.elantan said:
I've wanted to get into that kinda stuff for the longest time, but I think I'm too young just now, will need to wait till I retire... will live vicariously through you till then 😉Karmacat said:
It is, El - mine is a big branch, just over 900 members even now, and it has links with nearby town as well (like, 5 miles awayelantan said:is U3A university of the third age ,?
). It's very interest-based, which suits me.
My local U3A has a group I would really like to go to unfortunately it clashes with an existing commitment.1 -
It sounds great. I'm struggling to fit things in that I want to do now...I might have to retire early and just go for it!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k1

🤣 go for it! I mean, I have less energy now than I did back in the day, but I'm trying 🖖🏻earthgirl2 said:It sounds great. I'm struggling to fit things in that I want to do now...I might have to retire early and just go for it!
So, today:
- tweak the curtain DONE
- do the French form and see if it's accepted. Ooh! I wrote in the interactive form, and they've accepted it!!! So now:-
1. I can set up the virement, and they can use it for the OTP text. It will take two days to do that, so in the meantime,
2. I'll use my driving license to verify my identity with the currency firm.
3. I now also want to compare the exchange rates of the currency firm and my French bank 😛😮
- do the plugholes. This is much more urgent than I'm making out 👀🤣 Started.
- clean Healthy Supplies shopping, delivered last Saturday Nope.
- lightbulb in my bedroom died about 2 weeks ago, I've been using a table lamp, and I'm bored. Change the bleeping lightbulb 👀🤣 Later?
- vacuum. Even a little bit. Later?

Had a look there is, right in the town next to me, we have 3 in our area and we can go between them as our interests lie, but when I looked onnthe main site they dont just want you to be retired, they want you to not even be working part time ... so that kinda knocks me out for nowbeanielou said:There's one here el.

Huh! Not sure whether you mean U3A or redhats, but I'd have said its none of their business, to be honest! Well, I wouldn't have said it, but you know what I mean 😄elantan said:

I'm preparing for an Asda delivery - its going to be hours earlier, apparently, which suits me because of the 90% rain forecast for the original delivery time
its a smaller order for me, £65 or thereabouts, but with cancellations because of no stock, its down to £50! That's a big percentage! Ah well, not as difficult to tidy up - and I never did the tidy-up for last Saturday's Healthy Supplies delivery either. Its a necessary job, in my eyes, but I loathe it 🤐🥱
Today? See to the deliveries, clean bathroom floor then get a shower, armchair jobs include checking currency exchange rates and paying the French property tax, only 12 days left to go.2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
