Thank you lovely people! I'm slightly terrified of these workmen being in the house, but at least they're arriving a bit later than I thought - 11 or 12 in the morning
very civilised. I cleared moss, had a tiny little walk, outdoor deep breathing, it's all good. I'll report back tomorrow

Workmen are here right now - I'm perched on a dining chair in my office using my laptop on battery. Because both the living room and my bedroom are emptied out, everywhere else is full to bursting, except the bathroom in case they need to use it. Just two blokes, super-quick, very obliging, understood that the venetian blinds needed to go. I had to move the tv and the unit it rests on, and omigod, the dust, and the crap on the woodwork .... and the dust coating the wires? ... I'm so glad I moved it before they got here, at least I could sweep the floor.
Woke up at 3am, noisy next door neighbour has bought a pup that yaps, and their other dogs, all gone now, were never yappy. This thing went on for 30 mins or so - no chance of more sleep on a day like today, with that having happened. Sigh. At least as everything emptied out, I could see *quite* how bad the blown windows are!2023: the year I get to buy a car8 -
My new windows are gorgeous 🏠 the rooms are now incredibly bright, and I've decided I'm definitely going to clean them once a year or something - it'll be worth it
It was easy to get the living room curtains down, they're on a pole and the pole came off its supports very easily. Curtains upstairs were taken down and cleaned (we had a great discussion on here about whether to clean blackout curtains) - and now I need to anti-bac spray quickly, and put things up. I can't remember which curtain goes on to the hook first, the main one or the liner, oops. Youtube will tell me.
Washing machine has been going, with dust sheets, fabrics that couldn't get out of their way, etc. I also need to refresh the voile curtains, originally bought for the porch, that are going to go in the living room, now that the venetian blinds are gone.
I need a walk round the block this afternoon, and that's my lot. Between the bookcase preps and the double glazing preps, my house has been in a horrible mess for a long, long time - I'm *so* happy to get things back in order again2023: the year I get to buy a car10 -

Ooh, this is all very exciting! I remember when we had new glass in our windows in the old house it looked like there were no windows at all! I loved it 😁 Sadly my enthusiasm for window cleaning didn't last very long 😂 So lovely to have your house back after a big old mess 😊😊😊5

New windows are awesome! Well worth the disruption.

Hello lovelies, thank you all! Of course, I haven't put the bedroom curtains up
but after the anti-bac, I've draped them over the curtain rail, so Sunday morning won't be *quite* as bright as Saturday morning
Took a very pleasant afternoon walk too: because of all the new houses built locally, a public footpath that was so overgrown it was unuseable has been trimmed back, and it's fine now. Back at home, I'm slooowwwwllly getting things back into the correct room, if not the correct place. Another couple of days, I'm hoping, though I also need to use the green bin for Tuesday. One very easy (compact) thing to do would be to empty a windowsill box of all the strawberries, grass and weeds that are overwhelming it. Small steps really do add up
