Those are lovely, KC.We took down everything pretty quickly, but outside, I replaced the coloured lights on the plant supports either side of the front door with white lights that will stay there - it makes a real cheery difference when we get home in the dark.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8566

Thank you all
Chiglepig, what a good idea - I like that a lot!
I've been relaxing, plus doing one or two little jobs - the kitchen windowsill hadn't been cleaned since last summer, to be honest, plus the window has lots of splooshes of misdirected sanitiser all over itso now all that's gone. Easier to use as a temporary storage point for the living room bookcase stuff when it's clean, after all
Plus a few more pages of tippexing on the 2021 diary to transform it to 2022
Otherwise, just one more job I really want to do today: to clear as much as possible from the house, that belongs in the bin, just the recycling and the rubbish really, but so many bits and bobs it's distracting. That will be a job well done2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Oh, I thought I had three of the little Christmas wall hangings made by my mum. This is the third. The Liverpool Bar was dangerous to ships, but a lighthouse wasn't possible, so a ship was stationed there, with a small crew. And every year, a tug was selected to take a Christmas Tree out there. So it sailed past the lighthouse on the inner mouth of the Mersey to the lightship, fairly far out at sea. A very famous event for river families like mine.2023: the year I get to buy a car8

That one is my favourite, KC. A lovely commemoration of a tradition, and memories of your Mum and her skill - that would stay up all year round!

Thanks Chiglepig! I have a big wallhanging up, but not that one, I'd want to protect it from dust better because it's so textured. But I agree, it's my fave, and it needs to be up all year round

We still have fairy lights up in the lounge from about 4 or 5 years ago. And the snowmen ones running up the bannister. I noticed that a neighbour has outside lights on a bush on their back garden all year too!

Love that patchwork Karma - such a lovely bit of history contained in it.
We put up warm white outside lights in Dec 2020 for outdoor socialising all round our garden and then we weren’t even allowed to have people in the garden. The lights have never come down though and they make the garden really pretty. They’re on a smart plug set to come on at sunset so we don’t have to think about putting them on. 😊 Have had so many comments from people (freeglers and Olioers as well as friends) who come into the garden (because our house is back to front and people come in the back gate). Definitely nothing wrong with keeping some cheeriness at this gloomy time of year!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Just catching up after a few days. What a fuss with the diary! Who sells a 2021 diary in January 2022?? I actually have an undated diary and I do the same as what has already been said. I use what would be wasted time to fill in the dates. So while I'm waiting for the kids or for a zoom meeting to start etc. It doesn't take long to finish (she says, who has so far only got up to April!!)Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2005
