it's weird, isn't it
actually it's what I wrote below to Edwink, it's about having a target that's right for me. I'm so New Age it's really horrendous
Thanks Edwink! I was really pleased I managed to get there, and was compos mentis enough to talk to peopleedwink said:
KC... You are certainly on the ball at the moment with that list of yours, it's getting ticked off nicely right now. Don't overdo it though 😊 Wish I could have collected that grass from you today because my hens would have thought all their Christmas's had come at once having a black bin bag full of it, they would have dived straight in.
Yep, I always keep an eye on energy levels - I did very little on Tuesday, for instance. But when I have a proper target, I feel much better about what I'm doing in general, for me it's very empowering for some reason. And ooh, that grass would've been perfect for hens - lots of seeds in there, the odd insect.
Glad you are managing your healthy walks too.

Just found a good deal on some ashwagandha powder on Amazon - £18 per kilo. Some was £40 per kilo, so I've snaffled up the £18 stuff (which I've bought before). Happy days.2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Catching up on what I did yesterday: Principality have "let" me fund my new Regular Saver, but they haven't yet let me send the matured Reg Saver to the easy access account. I'll check on that, and won't do anything further until it's happened - behind the scenes sounds pretty simplistic, I don't want to do anything more complex until the remaining task is done.
Nice long convo with sister this morning, got to swap some photos.
Main task for today (after lunch, which is also a main task) - planting, as long as the rain isn't too heavy. If it's too bad, it's about, yes, the vacuuming **sobs loudly**.

Urgh, hope it doesn't rain and you can get out to do some planting!3

My dh has, over time, acquired 4 hoovers. Not that that means he uses any of them very much... Nor that any of them are much cop. The one we tend to use (ie the best one) is the 'old' one that loses charge super quick and then will only work in bursts of a few secs. But it is powerful and does what you'd expect a hoover to do!Whenever you talk about ashwagandha powder, I always imagine you doing really difficult yoga poses...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

but there's a lot of dust picked up
I decided to do that so I could do more pleasant stuff like planting over the weekend - and the rain was a tiny bit heavy, the weather forecast is lying like a rug at the moment, for me.
I'm having Thoughts about the garden. Clover lawn! Needs cutting less often than grass, much more helpful to all sorts of bees. Though I saw one comment that people might step on bees ... maybe not everywhere on the grassy area, than, but a few bits. I do fancy the idea!

Our lawn has lots of clover, marjoram and moss. Not to mention the creeping invaders; Ajuga (Bugleweed) and various other weeds, a bit of ivy, some bindweed, the odd nettle and mint. Very little real grass actually. We run the mower over it about three times a year (there are now so many B-rabbits (official description) that they probably keep it cropped). Now we have moles and rabbit excavations under and breaking through. Bit of a disaster really!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

That's interesting, SL, thanks for that. Mine certainly has quite a few bits and pieces. Sorrel, alchemilla, lemon balm and winter savory, coming in from the borders, plus a thing that looks like strawberries but isn't, and a few alpine strawberries as well. I don't want the strawberries in there, but the rest I really like. It's a good point - grassy areas don't need to be totally taken over. I dislike monoculture lawns intensely, I'd much rather have a variety of plants. Just checked on Amazon, and a supplier I've bought from already, Premier Seeds Direct, has 40g of clover for about £2 including postage. So I'll be going for that, at the very least.
Follow up on Principality. They're mad. They won't transfer the matured Regular Saver money to my easy access account with them because I have to instruct them to either close the account or leave £1 in there. Why would I leave £1 in there when my money is trapped in an account on the same interest rate as the easy access account (which I *can* control myself)? Please close, yes! Slightly stroppy message sent to them. They think it might take 3 days to respond. It better not, is all I can say, I'll check Monday lunchtime.
Other than thatdw is on, I'll look for the vac nozzle a bit more, and ready the plants for the planting this afternoon.

Our 'new' lawn has been completely neglected for at least a year, if not longer. This means it's a bit weedy! Not sure what it's a mix of, but it is delightfully green, so I just had the OH run over it with the lawn mower every other week since we moved in. Today's foray into the borders included lots of weeding & a spot of pruning. Tending of the neglected vegetable patch resulted in the green bin 1/2 full of inedible parsnips and quite a few rampant raspberry canes that were invading.
ETA - I too survived a match with the hoover - we had the boiler replaced this week (blue shrieky smiley at the cost!) and between OH & the sweet boiler bloke, neither of them could manage to get all the junk up off the floor! Spent about 15 mins with the crevice tool getting at the edges of bathroom, hall, cupboard and main room! After that effort, I need a nap!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
