A Regular Saver was due to expire on 5 October - I've renewed it, it went down from 1.5% to 1%, but I'll survive that. Need to work on my NatWest Reg Saver when I get back, its a larger one and not giving me the returns of the £50 a month one.
And tomorrow morning, I have to log in to my pretend current account to get the rewards payment fulfilled. If it isn't there then, I'll have to take my laptop with me, so I can do it in the evening. Ha!2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Savings rates are dire now aren't they. A few years ago my interest on savings would have paid my energy bill & now even though I have more I'm not sure the interest would even pay 2 months. When you are past being able to do anything to increase your income it starts to become a bit of a worry.

When we went to Beaulieu many years ago, DH got a real shock - going up the escalator in the motorcycle hall he was faced with a BMW bike for which he had contributed to the design of the part they were featuring (it was accredited to the German Chief Designer but it was made to work by British Engineers working for them as contractors). It was the Steering Head on the R1100 RS model. His first comment was "I'm not old enough to see my stuff in a museum!" - we moved into the car hall and he had a repeat experience on one of the Ford cars, but that was either trim or bumpers he worked on (as part of a team)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

SL - good to know it's a normal thing, in fact, it jogged my memory - the printer I used at my mum's to copy her photos for everyone, it could connect via bluetooth - and, um, I gave it away ... sigh ...

we actually left the motor bit till last
we were all over the historic homes, the exhibition of Russian art, the abbey, the lovely kitchen garden, and the monorail
we went round twice. I got chatting to the motorbike people, though, because both sets of my grandparents had severe motorbike crashes in the 1920s and 1930s (unconscious, in a hospital for weeks, facial injuries, bad stuff). I've now got a personal phone number for somebody that can help me find more information about the bikes, potentially.
We were **incredibly** lucky with the weather - per day, and within each day. Did you know that the Needles lighthouse gives off a red light from some viewpoints? Did you know that lighthouses have their own signatures? I had no clue
I'm back home, I'm dry, two sets of washing through the machine, mostly unpacked, ready to go: garden weeding tomorrow, when the rain has stopped, and then, as I say, the finance and admin tasks on Monday
Going to catch up with peeps now2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -

Exactly, badmemory, it's so that mariners can identify which lighthouse it is by the sequence of flashes and the colour. As you say, it's very clever.2023: the year I get to buy a car3

I've really missed out on this, then! I'm a bit shocked at myself - the dormitory suburb of Liverpool where i grew up actually *had* a lighthouse! Still does. I love finding corners of the planet that I know nothing about2023: the year I get to buy a car4
