I'm keeping up with the planting: yesterday and today, worked hard at weeding a big space - there's a salvia I bought years ago at Hampton Court plant shop, which naturalised at the speed of light, and has created havoc for me.  I *should* have done this sort of planting when I weeded the bed for the fences to be planted, but I didn't, sadly ... still, I'm carrying on.  Even though it's only one plant a day.  I'm digging up little roots and big, then adding a selection of bark chippings, stable manure from Wickes, and big salvia leaves around the sage I'm planting, held down with big flints, to keep me aware of where they are.

I managed to get out of the house in time for the Healthy Walk, very happy about that.  I have a couple of free mornings for the next few days, so I'm going to be doing the finance stuff: the final bits for Principality, applying for new broadband and cancelling the old, while making sure not to get double charged, if I can help it, maybe make a note of meter readings and input them, while taking before and after photos of the web page.  I'm with a big provider, I don't think they'll go bust, but it's an easy precaution to take, and it would put another tick on my list :)

Excellent finance update!  I just got the deal that madvix mentioned, vodafone fibre for £19.50 per month, plus I chose £8 per month unlimited calls to standard UK mobiles and landlines.  £27.50 per month.  PLUS (excuse me shouting) an Amazon voucher for £125.  That will buy a lot of ashwagandha  :D:D:D

Booked for installation 29th October, delivery of hub 3 days before that.

    Now to tackle TalkTalk.

Ooh, that's a good incentive on top of the price, nice! Hope it all goes smoothly (we didn't have installation).

It really is, isn't it!  I went to the broadband page on the main website, as a matter of principle, and found it there, so very happy with that.

The behind the scenes stuff is easier too - TalkTalk were obviously informed by some robot software straight away, they confirmed a leaving date of 29 October.  I've just been on chat with them checking about when they'll *charge* me until, which is quite different.  They're saying they will stop the charges on 29 October, which I'll believe when I see it, but I'm sort of hopeful.  Heaven only knows what the installation will be like, hopefully its just plugging in a router/hub and away we go.

Just going to faff about now updating my October list, woo hoo.

    GARDEN
Cut back, especially a few plants that do nothing for me or for pollinators
4 sessions in 2 days, lots more to do, plus planting.
Doing one long session a day, currently.

Prepare for winter's garden diy tasks: concreting near kitchen wall, gap filling near air bricks, painting fences, mending gaps in crazy paving.
Insanely optimistic, though I think I was copying from a longer list, to be honest.  Oops.

    HOUSE
Cleaning.  It's now much better than it was, but some areas still look like a slum 😮
Clearing away in my living room and my bedroom, so that I can get someone in to do quotes to replace the windows.
Getting the broadband change going is the most mse thing I can do right now, saving of £15 per month, £27.50 down from £43.95.  Very pleased with this!

Taking a break from the computer now, just gathering things together for the recycling bin collection tomorrow.
Oops, I pushed the edit button, not the quote, so its all a bit timey-wimey.  Never mind, its all good.  And it's sunny out there :)

oh thats a really good deal ...excellent stuff
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Thanks Watty!  I think it will really go ahead too (I never believe these firms initially ... ).  Lots of emails from Vodafone telling me about it all.  And as for the chat with TalkTalk - I took pictures of it with my phone, to prove what they told me.  All good.

Spent quite a bit of the afternoon tidying and vacuuming in my small bedroom - no idea how long it is since I cleaned in there  :s and packing away in there some bits and bobs from the living room and my bedroom, to prepare for window people coming in to quote for double glazing.  It looks a lot better in there!  Recycling bin also dealt with, for tomorrow morning, after all of which I was *really* filthy, so had a shower - too late in the afternoon to air the bathroom properly, though, so the whole house will have a gale blowing through tomorrow, to dry it out :) Feeling good though  B)

Slow, slow start today, waking up at 5am will do that to you.  Then a long confab with sister - juggling plans so her two adult offspring can both have what they need.  The result is that I'm officially the petminder in chief - cat and rabbit, both - at her house, I've said I'll be ready to go at an hour's notice.  Petsitting extraordinaire **happy jumpy smiley**.

Gale force wind now unleashed throughout the house to dry out after my late shower, dw has finished, mw about to be on, I'll be tidying up the porch and cooking soaked split peas.  Then a small job from the list (check on gas and elec) then do some pruning in the garden, hopefully resulting in another little space for the planting.

Have you considered a dehumidifier for the bathroom?  I had an extractor fan & it really hurt my ears (yes wierd I know) so when Aldi had one in their offers I thought well it can't be any worse.  It takes a lot less time to clear & so is cheaper to run.  I also have a thermometer/humidity meter so I can tell when it is low enough.  If I had known when I bought it how great it would be I would have bought one that has a cut-off which you can set for the desired humidity %.  I use this because my back cannot deal with draughts
