Ooh, I've not been to Beachy Head. I know people who have done the marathon there, running up and down the hills on top of the cliffs. It's supposed to be very beautiful - but like you I would be staying VERY well away from the edge! 😮4

The only time I’ve been to Beachy Head was in thick fog and you couldn’t see the sea or the cliff edge at all (we weren’t walking, just stopped for some lunch on an explore). So I have no idea about its beauty whatsoever!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hiya
wow madvix, I'm glad you just stopped for lunch - I wouldn't walk around there in fog at all, not at all - the cliff edge is really sharp, and you can see overhangs on neighbouring cliffs really easily. It'd be the work of a moment to go over the side - people are killed at the top and the bottom fairly regularly
Cheery, I'd think running up and down those hills would be astonishingly difficulteven if young and fit
though I'd really like to see it.
Oh! What we *did* see is a Spitfire!!!! It was practising for the local airshow next weekend, I think, and it was right overhead, I've never seen one as close, and it was performing loop the loops. A wonderful sightAnd there was a lookout post run by Lloyds of London in the 19th century, that was remarkable to see.
Quiet day today - I've tried to catch up in the kitchen a bit, not particularly successful but a bitenjoyed Richard E Grant's literary travels through Southern Italy and the south of France, both areas I know a bit, and like much more
I'm a bit ashamed I'm ignoring the finances in this post - but this is why we look after our finances, to have good times!2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
Certainly agree with you there! I love hearing about people's adventures, especially when they're facilitated by being careful and wise for years
Beachy Head marathon is meant to be one of the more difficult ones... You can see the map of the route and the profile here:

there are a LOT of ups and downs! One to watch rather than do I think
Very exciting about the flying antics!

That's really something! Good heavens, that profile map is astonishing
definitely just one to watch.
I'm taking it very easy after all that, though I did manage to cook some dried beans yesterday, done a YG survey, plus the wm is on, and I hope to do some sort of gf Victoria Sponge, which I love. Still not pushing myself at all, though2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Feeling good today, I may be over the hump with the dizziness, woo hoo
So, over yesterday and today:
- arranged a little outing over the Bank Hol with sis (no big stuff over holidays, just local)
- given some genealogy help to my London friend,
- written to Norfolk rellies,
- 30 mins weeding each day,
- bit of tidying,
- wm is on,
- kitchen table is now officially clear to faff about with cardstock,
- found a recipe I was looking for for using tofu as a chip-shop fish,
and finally ... finances!
1. YG survey - I'm *so* near the £50!
2. Pinecone - surveys are going a bit odd, I have to say, full or even cutting out halfway through, so I ordered some Amazon vouchers to get the points out of there. £20.
3. Placed Healthy Supplies order, and used their "add to this order" button, which was brilliant - I want to start making water kefir, and forgot to put the drink I can use as a starter on there.
That looks much more efficient than it feels

Wow, you must be feeling better - that's quite the ta-da list!
I've just done a PC survey - seemed OK to me, but it did ask if I had a dog and then clearly redirected me to a different survey when I said no - so I think maybe there are more surveys than there used to be. Not good that it's cut out on you though.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Yep, I was pleased - though all the while, I felt like a lazy bleep
That dog survey is the one that stopped halfway through, actually!
Amazon vouchers turned up, and I credited them into my account straight away, so at least I've hardly lost anything.
Yet another half hour of weeding accomplished - my sister has floated the idea that when bro comes down here, we could all three of us spend some time painting my new fencesso access is the least I can do.
I took some time this morning to do the tofu/chip shop fish and because I don't use non-stick any more, it was terrible, they stuck really badly - I used the batter to make a kind of pancake, though, so that worked well2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

I find tofu sticks really badly to the bottom of all my pans unless it is the frying pan that came with the rental. That one is some awful non stick thing that I'm sure is bad for me but in the scheme of things its small fry 😂 I do keep trying tofu but have yet to find a way I really like it.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4
