Seems odd to me!  But of course, driving instructors want to teach all the skills.  Been reading about specialist courses, and wondering whether my brother would like something around him - his sons buy him "experience days"   B)

Right, watering a few pots I forgot about yesterday, and cleaning the shopping, are the first things.  Then diatomaceous earth all over the bit where I think the ants are getting in.  Then lunch, I suppose.  Then we'll see.

Haven't laid out the diatomaceous earth yet, but absolutely everything from the supermarket has been cleaned and is out to dry.  Two days!  Very pleased with that   Only just got some washing out, and it *has* gone cloudy, but I'm hoping it will get mostly dry before anything happens.

Now that it's a **tiny** bit cooler, I've been able to think about a plan for the rest of the month.

    July Plan

1 double glazing renewal: cleaning and tidying has partly been about getting 2 rooms in a fit state for glazing people to come in.
2 gardening argh, shallow rooted perennials *have* to be dug out, weeding is necessary.  Green bin next Tuesday.  Harvesting needs to be included, which I said at the beginning of the month and haven't done a thing.
3 cleaning oh dear, this has become it's own topic.  The skirting boards are still disgusting.  Getting rid of dead ants, and heavy dusting of diatomaceous earth inside the house before I do anything outside the house.
genealogy work. Finish downloading articles about a firm run by a distant family member that went bust, temporary backup, distribute everything accordingly, then a proper backup.
    5. Speak with driving instructors "locally" about refresher lessons on automatics.
    6. Social bits: friend is coming down from London on Saturday, possibly; walk with sister next Tuesday; healthy walk the next day.  Top of the list next month will be my mate down in the city by the sea.
    7. Finances: need to send £700 back and forth between accounts to qualify for Rewards plan.  There was a zoom meeting today on behalf of the French management company, but I didn't get it together to look in - it's so long since I listened to spoken French, it's something I *should* do, rather than something I *want* to do.  Never mind.

Blimey, things flash by!  Turns out that on the 22nd above, I'd done a bit too much, so had to take it easy on Friday, as I had my very first non-family meetup of the whole blasted pandemic.  Wasn't quite sure it would happen, but it did, my friend from Brixton popped down to see me, and we had a lovely few hours pootling about the prettier edges of my town.  Showed her the cows, the duckpond, the mahoosive village green, and no rain, hurray.  I was shattered, though, I didn't want to time it and it went on a long time - right now, I feel tired just standing up

So, not doing anything today, except the wm and dw.  Luckily I gathered up nearly all the cut grass on Friday, but the borders are starting to look **really** bad :( Can't do anything tomorrow either, as I'm walking on the local common with my sister - that won't be as long, but still, I need to monitor energy expenditure a bit more carefully.  *So* lovely to see my friend though, I met her back in the mid-80s when we were both temporarily secretaries   The Olympics might get a look-in today, I really need to stay in one place :)

Awww, thank you people :) I have, I really have - my whole body felt exhausted this morning.  Much better now, but I've stayed doing very little, just a bit of faffing about online with the genealogy.  It's been raining and thundering all day, literally, and I haven't put my nose outside the door.  I might do a few steps while watching iplayer just now, so that I can go to sleep.   Hope everyone else can sleep well too.
