My library is the one place in this town that was too far for me to walk when I was ill - it was just over half an hour, and back in the day, I just couldn't manage it. So when they introduced ebooks, it was brilliant for me, and I could focus physical energy on getting well, not on tasks. And the kindle, I needed it because I had so many sleepless nights - waking up at 3, still not feeling sleepy at 5, I'd give up and read, staying in bed (still dark, didn't want the light on, kindle was ideal).
Funny old world!
At the moment, I'm copying the "history" pages of a couple of websites, so that I can read it on my kindle or my phone - I've got Sherborne Abbey to do, and I'm done
I'll be orf to Zummerzet tomorrow! Neighbour is looking after my house, all's well there. I hope everyone has a good week, and doesn't get rained on too much. Me, I'm taking two waterproof jackets and an umbrella

Good morning, lovely ones! I had a lovely time thank you
It was just Mon-Fri, and I must say Mon was an absolute downpour, the farm where we rented was perched on top of a hill and we watched the river flooding - pedestrian bridge disappeared. But no one lives there, the livestock had a lot of field further uphill, no problem. After that, my factor 50 sun lotion got a good workout. The Channel is as beautiful as ever 🌞
The AirBNB was really, really perfect. I knew it was beautiful, I didn't realise it was so spacious. A sausage dog with a deep bark, a ginger cat that loved me and hated my sister, and a chicken called Betsy that loved us both, life couldn't be better 💚
So, for the National Trust - highest recommendation Montacute House and Lytes Cary Manor House, fantastic, though the queuing system for the toilets needs a bit of work. Maiden Castle was tremendous. Boo to all Somerset churches, all of them closed "because of covid". Hurray to the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum and St John's Church Tolpuddle - I asked where we could sit to eat our packed lunch, the lady turned out to be the flower lady for St John's, and she welcomed us to sit on their benches in the cemetery or in the actual church itself, it was **open**! And their cemetery is a wildlife space, with a pied wagtail taking full advantage of that.
I'm back full of energy 😁 though I was a bit sticky from all the sun lotion and sanitisera lot of cleaning needs to be done, but I'm on it. Picture of Betsy coming soon

Karmacat said:June Plan
1 double glazing renewal cleaning and tidying has partly been about getting 2 rooms in a fit state for glazing people to come in.
2 holiday in England, a couple of hours drive away, so there *shouldn't* be any problems with it.
3 gardening argh, shallow rooted perennials *have* to be dug out, weeding is necessary. Harvesting needs to be included.
4 cleaning oh dear, this has become it's own topic. The skirting boards are still disgusting.
5 genealogy work.
(2) holiday. Yes! Got back yesterday, so I need to unpack, wash whatever needs it, download the photos and faff with them, pay my sister for tickets and petrol.
(5) genealogy work. I did quite a bit - started AncestryDNA once they gave me the results, got a 3 month membership of the Newspaper Archives. Still need to download a lot of info about a photographer/artist. And now I have lots more information to use when writing the privately published genealogy book, lots of human interest stuff on people I already know, which I love.
Otherwise - the June plan can just repeat, with the added need to work on perennial weeds on the *other* side of the garden. Harvesting has become urgent, these plants are big
"Lockdown" might end on 19th July! The holiday was successful in showing that it can be done, if we're careful. Planning the next, but I want to make sure I do other things as well.
Finances: I need to dedicate a regular hour a week or so to keep up to date, I keep feeling I'm missing out doing things. I might even use a fridge magnet to put a list up on the fridge
