We had quite a Brexit stash when we decided move. Then moving happened right before lockdown and we had a few tins of random beans left! You could get one or two large storage boxes (like 70l) and keep them full with favourite stashables. That'd be eminently moveable but still a decent size stash.Choose kind5

Life has changed so completely, hasn't it! Channelling the Inner Squirrel is a Good Thing
very reassuring. Big storage crates are great - quite a lot of my fabric stash is in storage crates of one sort or another. 24 litre are brilliant, because they go under the bed
And yes, seeing Chinese/Japanese tourists and feeling a bit sorry for them, they were so worried about catching stuff
**apologetic vibes to all**
Finally got the cards away, and did a fair old amount of tidying - including printing out a 4 page scan of a local map to plot bee routes ona la Jimmy's Bee Rescue
Only problem now is that the neighbour at the back has proved herself to be well and truly intrusive - I haven't really cared what she's done to the laurel, but I told her specifically that I love the slimline holly tree in my garden, in the corner of the walls - its maybe a foot into my garden. She's cut maybe six feet in height from itit must have been this afternoon. When I can get my fencer to do the back garden, I'm tempted to do something. I've been watching like a hawk to see if she comes out, but nothing so far. I'll have to say something, its a huge chunk of native tree just gone.
Anyway, I still feel okay in myself, thank heavens, I've got the mask fabric tidied up with pinking shears, and I'm also starting a proper pile of charity shop stuff. Starting to get back into gear!

Brilliant sleep last night, so thankful for that
it's meant a slow start this morning
the dishwasher is still going, and I don't have any clean pans because of that - I'm hungry though
but all's well.
I'm definitely collecting recycling/charity shop stuff downstairs, means that upstairs is instantly more useable, ha - I might walk to Waitrose this afternoon - its a nice open walk, I'll see what they've got in the way of potential recycling for me, without going into the horrible dark railway tunnel that leads to my Sainsbo. I might work on the garden instead, or faff with collecting more recycling - there's so much that *could* be doneI *have* done the Wickes order - tiling tools, mortar to repair the tops of my vandalised gateposts, mortar for in between the paving stones of the patio - jobs for autumn and even winter, because I really don't think I'll be able to get out much. It's all stuff that has to be done, I'm okay with that.2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
I think it's definitely a good idea to get supplies in to keep busy over the winter - and if they're DIY ones that mean you create a nicer environment, all the better.
I already have the storage for a Brexit/pandemic stash Hazelnutty... it's just I'd rather not have more than needed to move. Unfortunately, as we don't buy prepacked stuff or many tins, it makes it tricky! But there's definitely a few bits I'm going to stock up on for now. So can't be bothered with moving at the moment...Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Do your deeds have any limit on how high your fence can be? If not I would be asking the fencer how tall he can make it.

I felt slightly paranoid doing it, but its just stuff I need to do anyway.badmemory said:Do your deeds have any limit on how high your fence can be? All of ours goes in wheelie bins, with lids. When recycling first came in, it was just plastic boxes, which were continually getting blown around in the wind. Even wheelie bins will, as well, given a strong wind, but the boxes were mad!

The original bags we had for paper waste were hessian I think but they are lined with plastic. Well not lined exactly, more they have plactic fused into the backing. We have had wheelie bins for years though & I now use that bag in the house to collect it & then empty into the wheelie every so often. What I think would be useful is if all councils used the same colour for their bins. Even though our local councils use the same facilities, different areas seem to concentrate on different types of waste, they use different colours. I had workmen in last week & one of them dropped his empty water bottle in the green bin (paper), which is the colour where he lives next council over instead of the blue one which is bottles here. Complicated or what!

We are still on the plastic boxes. We don't have any wheelie bins and have to put our rubbish out in bin bags (specific ones allocated each year by the council). It's ok now that we've got the food bins as well, but prior to that cats and foxes just used to tear into the bin bags each week as they smelled the food and there was rubbish everywhere. Nothing ever seemed to stop them doing it.2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

badmemory, thats *so* true - some standardisation would be very welcome, whatever it was.My collection of recycling has led on to a bit of decluttering, of course. Three shoeboxes of cat ornaments are now two (I had a little display case of glass and coloured solder I bought in Spain, but the backing mirror cracked so I need to be careful on putting it up) - anyway, its meant the bookcase in the 2nd bedroom is now completely clear of cat ornaments
and I found a gorgeous pair of fairly high-heeled shoes, from Office, which I'm completely unable to wear, so they're off too. Things like that.
Today - hmm, depends on the rain forecast. Weed-digging would be useful, and easy because of all the rain. A walk to the charity shop to take some stuff in (even easier than the Waitrose walk I didn't do) is a possibility. I'm quite tempted to finally phone my ex-colleague as well, finally finally, I have some phone energy, and its months since I've spoken to him. There are a few finance things to do - apply for the pension, I have the form now, oh and I *really* need to pay the mastercard cc. The visa is on automatic now, which is great. So many bits to do!2023: the year I get to buy a car4
