Good morningWe had another amazing trip out to the same beach, an hour away - couldn't pay the car parking charge this time, so it was free, which was nice (no attendant, cafe closed, machines are broken and removed). Not quite so idyllic as last time - we made sure to arrive well after high tide so we could see the sand again, but so near the Equinox it wasn't budging. Still, we actually spoke to a few people this time - just ordinary chat, which was lovely, and tehre was a brilliant dog - huge, long haired, and relieving his arthritis by wriggling around on his back on the shingle, he was lurvely.Today - washing is about to go on the line, I'll do a few online things (acorns!) but really its just making sure I have energy for my flu jab, both the walk there and the physical reaction to the jab. It's usually okay, but I'm pretty tired from these walks, fantastic though they are.2023: the year I get to buy a car6

Good afternoon all! I'm feeling a bit more chipper today, recovering from the flu jab on Saturday, which was very good anyway as these things go. So this morning, I wanted to watch the virus announcement at 11am, I decided to not switch on the computer too much, and instead do some of the physical things I needed to do: I got rid of some green bin waste, collection tomorrow - chopped back some heather in the front that I'd let grow a couple of feet over the border, it was dreadful! And I did a bit of vacuuming in my bedroom, which was also dreadful, yikes. A good long break for lunch, and I might actually go for a half hour walk just now, before the schools stop for the day. Then it might be backing up the laptop, which I mentioned a lot more than I actually *do* it, but such is life.Have a good afternoon all!

I've been Very Absent, for me at any rate - I decided to stay in Westeros a bit longer, and that went well, in general, slept a bit better last night. I also managed to use some very old filler I found to use on the mortar underneath the level of the damp course - some of the holes were *very* big. I'm sure there's a lot of wildlife already inside, but when that's gone, the situation might improve.Backing up is going very slowly, I never found the lead that went missing - I'll check if its sold on its own on Amazon or even Currys, but otherwise I might just buy another HDD, sadlyI pulled out some material last night to make more masks - since this is really, really long term now, I need more than four reuseable ones. I have a dozen or so disposables, but they could go really quickly. I have an amazing fabric stash, so its no hardship.I had a click and collect scheduled for this Friday, but it got a bit out of hand, so I cancelled it for a delivery next week - went well, and I found a daytime slot for only £1, so thats worth it. I'm keeping my stock of pesto up very high
these latest covid restrictions really don't sound like they're going to do the job, just like the first lockdown, so I'm assuming its going to go crazy.
Today: the birthday cards I never wrote, bedroom tidying, make a Wickes order, finally, to make sure I get some more filler and some stuff for little winter projects.2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -

...guess we'll be having thai red curry for a very long time...
...we also seem to have a lot of pasta! - OH is a potato eater & I'm a rice eater so will need to work in all the weird and wonderful shaped pasta into our weekly meal plans! - Monday we used up some shelf-stable potato gnocchi which in my head is pasta but I think OH views it as potato, and he liked it so much we'll be replacing it! So much for making inroads into using things up!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I'm really struggling with the desire to stock up (for the dual fun of pandemic and Brexit, woohoo!) against the logic of not wanting a massive stockpile in case we move.... I think lockdown/Brexit may win soon though - without any offers or exciting properties on the market, my inclination to move is waning... I also have the usual desire to use everything up and have orderly freezer drawers... it's a never-ending battle!
The mask thing is so strange, isn't it? 9 months ago we'd (I would, certainly) have thought the Chinese/Japanese tourists you see occasionally on the streets were strange in their cultural desire to wear a face mask when they have a cold.... and now?
