Thanks madvix - most of today is sorted now. Got to fill up the green bin; I'll be having a play with rightmove and ukflightradar later on, and between the two, I'll check if the free ancestry access is still available through my library - I was so desperate when I was offline, I started integrating and catching up on my offline notes, which include lots and lots (and lots) of oral history. Of course, I should have done that before I did anything else, but now I've done a lot of it for 3 small branches I investigate, I can look at things in more detail, and know what I'm about

Thank you SL! For me too, a beacon of normality, I explained it to one person by saying "these are the people I share my everyday life with" - this is my garden fence!I've been attending to food shopping this morning: a collection between 8.30 and 9, it's very tiring but fewer people on the streets. A bit zombified then, but I also cancelled a delivery for Thursday and rebooked/re-shopped for 9 July, which took ages. I was also *completely* soaked - it's been drizzling all day, but at that stage it was raining, hard, it gave me a little inking of what lockdown/ easing would be like in worse weather. My GP surgery texted me to say "even in the rain, you can't come in early for your appointment" - they must have difficulties there! Not sure what I'll do the rest of the day, but I do want to find something productive. Bit more catching up on here first, though2023: the year I get to buy a car5

Likewise! 😊
I think if we’re still social distancing come autumn (which we will be, realistically), there’s going to be a lot of problems with the queueing situation. Imagine supermarkets will be able to afford to put up shelters, but not the smaller shops. It will be another impact on the high street.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
