After a convo with my sister, the next time I sit down with a cuppa, I'm going to get my big new kindle out, the one that came out last August or whenever, recharge since it was last switched on, and see if stuff loads. Then phone helplines, because I'm sure it *wont* just load my stuff. Off now to get a hat and spend some time in the garden.

I got my act together a bit more today:- credit card that was due today had nothing on it
so paid the one thats due at the end of the month - just the small Asda bill of £40 or so.
- Jack Monroe's storecupboard book still on offer, so paid in SB Amazon vouchers for that, 99p- roastie mix no2 has done 3.5 servings, very good, and lots of peelings for the compost heap.- two sessions of 40 mins or so out in the garden - clearing grass from the borders still, I've dug up 3 recently rooted bramblesbit of grass cut, but my lovely neighbour today told me that the council have suspended the green bin collection
I knew lots of people on here had that happen to them, but I thought we might get away with it. Apparently not!
- tidying upstairs - a few matches and candles, and the torches I bought for the cruise, as well as the self-instal led lights I used to have in the kitchen before it got poshed up - put them all in the one place, that feels a lot tidier. And I've had way too many candlesticks gifted to me over the years. I like them all, mind you!- tried to get books onto the new kindle. I think I downloaded too many at once (erm, about a hundred) ... it's slowly having a fit at me. Might have to ring a helpline, but I'll leave it on, see if things get better.- couple of emails, that was something.2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -

That sounds like a very productive day! And you got out into the garden, which is more than I managed. Must do some weeding today.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I haven't checked this morning, been very slow to start, even though I woke up at the same time (
might have something to do with watching last night's Endeavour repeat this morning!).

Must do some weeding today.I counted two days of garden work, oops - but it *was* mostly one day, yes. Astonishingly lax this morning - dishwasher's packed and on, and thats about it.Last night I was watching flightradar24 - that RAF aeroplane that took off from Brize Norton hoping to go to Turkey, it sat out in the North Sea flying an ovalthough I hear an RAF plane is now sitting on the tarmac in Turkey somewhere.
Today: bit of cleaning around the skirting boards, some gardening, protecting the marigold seedlings that have sprouted. Going to set up some new spaces too, see if the peas and beans will sprout.

KC - there is a Kindle cloud on amaz0n where you can store books that you are not currently reading - I throw all the monthly freebies there until I'm ready to read them. Mostly it's because I use the app on my phone rather than my kindle so don't want to fill up the memory. All the titles can still be seen in your library, ready to download when you are ready to read it! - RTxx4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! That's true, isn't it
oops. I wonder if it would let me delete most of them, and start again
thanks for the reality check, RT

If you check your cloud, all your titles 'should' be there permanently & you can download/remove them at will from whichever device you are using - I often have the same book open on kindle and phone app, and set it up to sync page location between devices, then read the same book seamlessly on the dreaded commute, and at home before nodding off at night on the actual kindle. Next morning on the commute, I'm at the spot from the night before on the app again!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Excellent
I have the app, actually, on my laptop, but the laptop doesn't work very well any more, oops. I think I might bite the bullet and buy a laptop sight unseen. Realistically, I've done it before!
Wanted to sort out my plans for while we're in lockdown, I'm staring at things helplessly a bit too much. I managed to do the next four days, which is an improvement: today is just, read the meters (which I haven't yet managed to do in the new routine!), phone sister, something in the garden, and clean the cookware. Hopefully I'll do more, but thats the plan.2023: the year I get to buy a car4
