apple_muncher said:Now you just stop that 'must do more' talk, missus, or I'll be round (ninja style so no one sees me) to tell you off in person! You have the 'opportunity' to do things in a different order form your preferred order (as do we all). But that doesn't mean you absolutely have to do them. -you can still choose what you do and don't do.One thing you need to do is what beanie says - take care x
I couldn't sleep last night, unusually for me, so used the time to actually write a list and a sort of timetable of how I plan to use the next few months. I've had to laugh about that since, I was like the teenage me with my lists and plans instead of a retired woman who would be better off pacing myself. The imposed free time is something of a blessing and should maybe be seen as a bonus when we can step back and just find the time to 'be' rather than cramming every minute with busyness and things ticked off our to-do lists.5 -
Ooh! You know what, the friends that I admire in my offline life say that kind of thing! Thank you both
I have such a lot of the practical stuff to catch up on, it kind of haunts me, I must say
plus increasingly I have Andrew Marvell's little ditty running through my head:
But at my back I always hearTime's winged chariot hurrying nearAnd yonder all before us lieDeserts of vast eternity. It's not as doom-ridden as it sounds - I just don't want this admin stuff to expand so that it takes over my life. Even if I'm temporarily housebound, I'd rather be making the wall hanging, or tending my new mint plant, than faffing about with financial admin. And cleaning. Anything but cleaningSo today:
- swept living room and kitchen. Alarming amount of carp all over the floor - I think my little cough is probably my dust allergy once again- I put both the dw and the wm through their paces.- started to tidy upstairs! Woo hoo, I made a little start!- paid other cc- paid French accountant (erm, about half an hour ago!)- tried to pay French management company, but they've changed name/ financial details, I need a new dd (virement, in French) and the bank need to do a headstand and rub their stomachs while I recite my mobile number, so that will have to be done tomorrow.I couldn't come on here yet again and say I didn't do the French admin, so at least I got off my arris and did two thirds of it - thanks to MSE!2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

Maybe it’s worth setting a loose schedule for the day? So do an hour of ‘work’ in the morning and then an afternoon of wall hanging? So you’re making some progress but it’s time limited do you can still enjoy the rest of the day?
Well done on the French admin though!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning! A regular schedule doesn't really work for me, sadly, madvix, life would be easier if it did ... I was self employed for a long time, and before that I was travelling about the country supporting and inspecting schemes to help long term unemployed people (and my charity's client group) so I've had an irregular schedule for about 90% of my adult life by now. Plus the cleaning and reorganising stuff needs "spare" capacity in the form of the desk or the kitchen table. Thank you thoughI *am* going to do a bit of scanning, to get rid of the dratted paper overload from the old French management company, thats one piece of good news. In other good news - no cough this morning, at all. I think I proved my case that I was doing an allergy/stress thing
.
So today, washing (emptying the porch of fabric, supermarket delivery tomorrow), cleaning (notably the unused wall tiles from the kitchen, still sat in the porch and have probably had virus particles shed on them from my coat before I washed it), and I want to do at least one pilates session before I speak to my sister again, this is getting embarrassing2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
I'm the total opposite - I've nearly always been in the education system, so my life is ruled by the clock. And the bell! I still have this week of setting and marking work online, which is e x h a u s t i n g - the constant ping of notifications, pupils who can't follow instructions, pupils who don't bother doing the work and need chasing up. Ooph! On the other hand, it is making for very personal contact with them where I can praise their work, give them individual attention they don't always get in the lessons and we are even having some giggles. I'm thinking ahead to the other side of the Easter break and how to change the work I'm setting. it's really useful to have dd in the same room, doing her online learning as she has to do it in real time,s o I get to see how her teachers are doing it.Oops, sorry to waffle! I'm being lured away now (as if!) by more pinging...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

KC - you may have mentioned already - is your pilates from an on-line source? - I'm rather bored with the ones I've been using & could do with a switch-up!
ETA - it was morning when I started that reply & then like apple got pinged - lol4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Hi both
it really goes to show, there's no one right way - such different lives and needs as we have
This is the local pilates teacher - be warned, it ends with the plankhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6eNMAtEpxQ
I have:- spoken with sister.- been checking on the Asda app*all* day - loads more things they can't deliver tomorrow, and they've shut the app down because of the volume of demand. Will try via browser, but I'd changed the password because of starting on the app ... life is never simple. How's that for a first world problem? I'll be grateful for whatever turns up, actually.- been on a walk (late morning - weirdly, it was a better time, though still not great).- cleaned more assorted bits and bobs from the holiday case. Herbs and spices from the markets have been packed away for now, not interfering with anything else.- showerproof mac and one porch curtain are in the wm as I type- rucksack, small handbag and luggage strap have all been soaked, cleaned and rinsed, drying off over the bath.- oh, and the catch-up cleaning of the decade: cleaned the living room windowsill and the bottoms of the window panes - yikes, is all I'm going to say.More yikes: I've realised that nearly all of that is physical, and so I'm not doing *anything* else physical today. There's plenty to faff about with on hte computer, after all!
