    Rainbows :j how wonderful :j
Jimmy, you sound like you've been through the mill today, all right! And you're spot on about February being the worst - we were moving furniture during the Beast from the East, I'll never forget it.

I've been doing the odd piece of housework, stuff thats normal to everybody else :o earthshattering stuff like cleaning the inside of the microwave :p

There's yet more tech I need to buy :( the computer is very arbitrary about when it will allow me on to various websites (like, yknow, my email!) and the tv has decided I don't want to watch the new episode of Vera, and since I've only just got into it since Christmas, I'm slightly miffed

Got the usual healthy walks thing this morning, but an hour later than usual ... we're going out to our Christmas meal today :):):) Part of me is very tempted to keep on sitting here all comfy, but actually, I can get a lot of post opened and stuff binned, very useful to clear the decks. So thats what I shall do :):):) hope everyone has a good day.

Love Xmas in January! - A cheery way to start the year:D Such a good idea to plan it for this month instead of last.

My lunch plans for tomorrow just got cancelled as friend still has the lurgy & is conscious that I don't take any germs home to OH with his weakened immune system.

So I'm thankful for her thoughtfulness & my finances are thankful for the respite, but still a bit mopey as I've not seen a single friend for a meal in over a month when I went to a 'ladies who lunch' xmas meal out! (as you often say - first world problems :D)

Its true! The ladies are nearly all grandmothers :o except for me :D and these days being a grandmother is a busy affair! But even for me, it was nice, just spreading it out, a normal menu to choose from and not having to fight the insistence on turkey :) Lunch was dead normal, omelette and (lurvely) chips. They were worried about 15 people ordering together and paying separately, but I think I reassured them when I told them they'd undercharged me by £3.

Awww! RT :kisses3: Actually, with long commutes, socialising at lunchtime is really important, isn't it ... and you're right, it *is* a first world problem - but this is where we live, the first world. It demands a great deal of us in some ways, we have to work to humanise it, rather than de-humanise ourselves.

Yep, it was great :) My only problem, in retrospect, was having the cheese omelette I first ordered rather than the plain omelette I tried to order seconds later ... cue a sleepless night. Cow's cheese, bad for me. Tasted great though :) And because I woke up so early (2am!) I did actually manage to get back to sleep.

Today is an online social day - this is new for me, but being social means, y'know, being social. Who knew? I certainly didn't :D

Glad you got back to sleep :) horrible to be lying awake for hours.

The online socialising sounds interesting, how does that work then?

Sorry the cheese caused you to have broken sleep but at least you enjoyed eating it and you managed to drift off for part of the night:). I love cheese omelettes, they're a big favourite of DH and I when we get home late and want a hot meal quickly. I also put mushrooms in ours and with a few oven chips and some baked beans as 'sides' it makes a nice tasty meal:j You've made me hungry now, I might rustle one up tonight;)

Your online social plans sound interesting:). The only online activities I'm likely to be involved in today are concerning various lack of communication 'issues' with companies and maybe trying to sort out once and for all why my laptop battery rarely charges when plugged in:(. I'm fed up with using it tethered as it defeats the object of having a lightweight, portable laptop:rotfl:
