:eek::eek: To the thought of someone wanting to actually plant kale...:eek::eek:

Please opt for a fruit bush...:D:D:D
I know, I know :rotfl: but some savoury goodness is a positive thing :rotfl:

One of the reasons I love Pinecone so much is that I've never been screened out in the, probably, 12 years I've been a member:j. This never happens with other survey companies who screen me out at least 7/10 times:eek:. I thought Pinecone pre-screened people before sending them surveys they definitely qualify for:think:
That's what I thought too, CBC, I must say.

Yes I was a bit surprised, the first few were fine and I cashed out no bother. One of the most recent surveys asked if I smoked or was currently giving up, when I replied 'no' to both they screened me out :(
What a shame, teapot! Sorry to hear that that's been your experience :( I thought it was like YG, which never, ever screens me out, though I may sometimes reply too late to be included.

The genealogy meet was good. I decided to not worry about doing my own thing, and helped a fairly elderly lady that I sat by. She started researching a few years ago, but hasn't read any books at all about *how* to research  It's so easy on the web to get so much information, a technique and a set of priorities and independent research are crucial. It was interesting to have to *say* that stuff :D

£3 Amazon voucher from SB arrived. And, weirdly, a £10 Amazon voucher from Aviva. I remember ticking a box, I do. Very odd. I bought a radio for the kitchen just before New Year, which cleaned out my vouchers, and between one SB machination and another, plus the weird Aviva schtick, I now have £43 in there. Very nice too.

  • Hi Karmact,

I've been lurking on your thread for a while and I've just caught up. I thought I'd mention that you may not need a car if you go to Malta as the buses are quite good or at least I found them to be.

 Hello littlefred how lovely to see you delurk :T

That's interesting about the buses in Malta, thank you! If it was just me, I would absolutely use buses only - my sister, however, hasn't used a bus since she was a student! She might go with it in Valletta, but not outside, I don't think. Oh, and now I've found the map of bus routes: https://www.publictransport.com.mt/en/route-map wow! They look amazing, thank you.

I second the buses in Malta! - I used them when I went there for a week a few years back (plus an occasional taxi at night) All very good value :) x

  • I have a friend that doesn't 'do' buses as well! Although with some of the driving I witnessed, particularly with my transfer, I wouldn't want to be driving there!

Afternoon all :) littlefred, greent, thanks again - see how useful delurking is :):):) I do love using the ordinary facilities of a place I visit, rather than separate tourist stuff, it can get very similar and very soulless. I shall mount a public transport campaign, excellent stuff.

A little exploration this morning: everyone seems to talk about Asian supermarkets, and I've never been to one :o until today, that is :D A kilo of turmeric for £2.99 :) that was the best that I bought, but there were still other bargains, 100g mixed herbs for £1.99.

I'd normally have needed two trains to get there, but today I needed one train and a Rail Replacement Bus  Really good timewise this morning, completely by chance, but still ... I won't go at the weekend again, repairs are all over my railway line at the mo.

Nothing else today - I've been totally obsessed by this supermarket :rotfl:

Morning all :) my run of good sleeps was badly interrupted last night :rotfl: woke at three, ended up spending a couple of hours on my kindle so I got up an hour or so later than usual, hurray.

Today, nothing particularly special, though if I can avoid the rain I'd like to get more garden waste gone, its collected on Tuesday. There may be a ta-da list later :)

I always try and get things like bags of ground coriander and cumin in an Asian supermarket, the nearest to me is in the city but I can combine a visit with work so all good. The value is amazing when you think how much those teeny glass bottles from the supermarket cost :money:
