I struggle with tea in a thermos - it tastes horrible. I can see the key is to take the water and tea bag and milk separately, but then you have to have something to put the milk in.... hmm, I wonder how small a thermos you can buy (anything else is liable to leak in my experience, but I'm open to suggestions!).... sorry for digressing on your thread Karma!

Sorry but tea that is made with water that isn't actually boiling - a big nono. Sorry coffee too (although I know that isn't what the instructions say)! But I have mentioned before that if I haven't finished mine before everyone else starts then it is just going to be too cold for me to drink.

I find hot choc in a flask ok whilst it stays hot. Cold hot choc is awful! Like you 2019 goals KC. Good luck!

Rainwater harvesting will definitely be on the list for our long-term home (although the current one is increasingly feeling 'long-term').
You're of the age when you can have a couple of "long term" homes :D

Digress away, I always love it :j
I started to take such a small amount of milk in tea that I trained myself to drink it black, so I don't have this problem, sorry. The only time I ever used a thermos regularly was when I worked in London on a Friday night. I used to make it about 9.15, and drink it on the train home first thing, at about 10.15. That was a half litre flask from Asda, which cost about £1.95, and paid for itself in one week :D

...Therm0s actually have sets for just this! - A large flask for the boiling water & a very petite flask for either hot or cold milk! I bought mine several years ago at l@keland in the after xmas sale. The set got a lot of use back in the days when my commute was shorter & a packed lunch regularly made it in to work with me!...
Thats downright impressive, RT :rotfl: I had no idea that that existed :rotfl: Lakeland seem to have a lot of niche stuff thats helpful if you occupy that niche, in all seriousness!
PS - KC how's the paperwork pile going? I'm avoiding mine at the moment (which is downstairs on the sofa) by actually sitting at my desk (upstairs) & using a 20 minute timer to eat some frogs!
You're avoiding your paperwork by sitting at your desk? :rotfl: I really, really like that, RT, that has a certain ring to it! Anyway, congratulations on eating the frogs, that takes courage.

I can tell you now that no paperwork has been done. I took a day off :j as my sister had a new satnav she wanted to test, and so we went to the most remote beach we could find in one day's driving distance, it was great, if absobleedinglutely freezing :D:rotfl::j

Well, exactly, badmemory, horses for courses. Very little on here is a complete nono :kisses3: I must say, I like a very hot cuppa tea myself - and since I often drink it slowly, a microwave gets more use than I'd like in reheating it :o:o:o at least its not stewed!

Thanks for the goals like, earthie :) As for hot choc, I love the really thick stuff. Yummity yummity yum :)

That's downright ingenious, apple :rotfl: though yes, I can see it needs a certain amount of willpower :rotfl:
My paperwork is currently piled up on the desk, on top of the posh cardboard filing boxes I bought, instead of filing trays, to keep the dust out of everything; a little is also sitting by the tiny hall radiator; the genealogy papers are on the kitchen table; and the unopened post is right by the front door, still unopened. I *will* have to open it tomorrow, so I'll be doing that first thing.

I have to do it tomorrow. I need to know my own net worth, for my own peace of mind, to help me decide where my sister and I might holiday, and to know where to invest the probate money. I need the card reader that I hope is in the mail!

    Spends
    £3.50 2nd January, U3A group 6 month membership.
£3.20 3rd January, combined car parking charges for today's day out.
£14.31 3rd January, money I owed my sister for bits and bobs over the last 2 months.

A small baby bottle with a seal on the cap, rather than a teat - works a treat - my eldest 2 used to take liquids to school for cookery in them - they were DD's bottles, so now almost 21 years old :D Often to be found on freegle/ freecycle :D Does mean you need to keep the milk cold if you are travelling for a period of time, though

Right, I've been trying to get my act together a little bit - lots of leftover tiddles are starting to add up and block my way forward. So this morning I have:
    - run two loads through the washing machine
    - found the password for the secure summary of the closed account with my former bank (dates right back to the new account, very useful to have it all in one place!)
    - ordered a £10 SB with Amazon.
    - tried to get the Mastercard £10SB voucher to sit with Amazon. It wouldn't, so now its sitting with my paypal account. Heaven only knows if I'll be able to use it - never doing it again, who the dickens are prepaiddigitalsolutions anyway? I think I've laid myself open to some iffiness there, too late now, but at least it won't infect my Amazon account.
    - done most of SB.

Now I'm going to check through my accounts paperwork. Wish me luck

Thanks Greent and Rtandon! (Sorry, I tried to multi-quote and failed :( ) - both excellent pointers! :T:T I'll ask my sister if she has a baby bottle lurking for next time and will keep an eye out for a mini thermos too (definitely necessary in the summer). I can and do drink tea black if I have to, but much prefer it with milk!

Karma - I need to channel your productivity this morning.... DH told me we could get £5 Amazon credit if we watched 5 mins of Prime Video (we're on a Prime trial at the moment).... Now I'm 47 mins into Paddington..... hmm....
