Okay, no fence-sawing got done, and only basic cleaning: I went for a walk instead, buds, catkins and bulbs galore.
And a huge amount of whinnying :j:j:j :rotfl:

- I'm scanning accountants' accounts for me, 1991-2010. Half a storage crate emptied!
Do you keep stuff going that far back? I shoot anything older than 2010 - should I be keeping it?- saw down a lonely fence post at the front, part of the adminny stuff is that my brother's bringing another van of stuff down, and it will include a tip run. That fence post *deserves* to be in the tip.
That fence post deserve to be given a viking funeral.
Without the boat, and with the addition of sausages on sticks...

I've no idea what you're referencing there :rotfl: unless its something on Game of Thrones I haven't got to yet.Oh I did see that! I really liked a lot of her stuff - I'm never a fan of "style experiments" from authors, but her stories and her viewpoint, they were wonderful.

Quorn sausages would fit on that stick, but not on my fence post :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It was only a few years ago that I read a feminist review *criticising* Le Guin, and I could see exactly what they meant, but she was utterly, utterly ground breaking in her time. I don't want to write much, I'm really really tired tonight, but her writing was good enough that I read it for sparks and thoughtfulness, and re-read it (over and over again) for comfort. The Hainish ... sigh ...
Nighty nightnot comfort reading right now, but comfort tv (whispers: Death in Paradise).

You put them on the stick.
You set fire to the fence post...

Sounds absolutely delightful (minus the cleaning element though;)). Huge drifts of snowdrops showing green shoots in our garden is a welcome sign that Spring isn't far away:j.
You had the total opposite of the day I had, waiting for deliveries from Argos which either didn't come or the wrong item was delivered:mad:
I'd ordered a food mixer on behalf of someone else who doesn't have internet access. It was needed urgently as a gift. Instead they sent a thermostatic bath shower mixer:eek:. Correct address, order number etc.. The Yodel man wouldn't take it back, said I needed to contact Argos and book a collection:(. Apparently the correct item should come today and the shower mixer will be collected at the same time. Not holding my breath though as I've been let down by Argos a few times before. Annoyed I'll have to wait in another day but there's nowhere hereabouts where anyone is at home during the daytime to accept signed-for parcels for us. We seem to be the repository for everyone else's parcels, we take in something most days. No one has ever asked us to, the couriers just drive up and down until they find someone at home. It's invariably us. A good way to get to know people I suppose when we go on to deliver their parcels later or they call round for them:rotfl:0 -

:rotfl: or not !! A few years ago neighbour next but one stopped talking to us. I persevered for about a year calling 'hello, name' if I passed her but eventually thought stuff this for being polite. I don't know why she stopped but suspect it was something to do with the neighbour in between who she also stopped talking to but in actual fact the situation wasn't anything to do with them. We pointed that out in conversation and that seems to have been the catalyst. Anyhow, about a year ago she started speaking to them sporadically but we are still ignored. Sorry that was background to a delivery man appearing back at my door after I had taken my parcel in to ask if I would take one for a neighbour. No problem, I signed and the realised it was for her. Interesting I thought. I assumed she would appear I would hand it over and no words would be spoken. No!!! Despite us going to her door, notes put through letterbox twice, another neighbour trying to phone her and also put a note through, 2 weeks later we still had the flipping thing!! Amazon didn't care and told us to keep it or destroy it  and wouldn't put a note on her file that we had it as we were not the account holders. Eventually we gave it to the other neighbour that had tried to help and she is trying to deliver it. I really wasn't keen on this as I had signed for it so I felt responsible but I also didn't want it any longer.
Jeez, no good turn ever goes unpunished as they say !! Now if a delivery man ever asks again I feel I should say sorry but no. I would feel bad for the poor delivery man who just wants to pass it on and get on with his round. I didn't think she would rather go without than have to appear at my door or answer her door to either of us. Nutter is a word you might have heard quite a lot in our house recently :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That's just awful:eek:. What a situation to find yourself in.
I did a bit of work once as a courier out in the sticks, It was using my own car not an official courier company vehicle so any wasted petrol was my loss. Finding someone in to accept parcels was a nightmare especially as the company I worked for delivered for Next and parcels had to be delivered that day come what may:(. On more than one occasion I've gone back after tea (at my own expense:mad:) to make sure the delivery was made when someone was more likely to be in. I soon realised that the job wasn't cost-effective and I packed it in. I feel great empathy for the couriers who try to deliver out in the rural area where we live and I take in parcels more for their sake than the recipients.
Touch wood we've never had a stroppy recipient:j0 -

To be honest, I was leaving out the less-delightful parts of the day- suffice to say that I've made a resolution to put myself and my needs first a bit more. I've been spending a bit too much emotional energy on looking after the others. No more.

Hiya, by the way :hello:
I've never had anything *remotely* as bad as that happen, but I do now refuse to take anybody else's parcels. Daisy, whats it like in the street, does it feel strained? Maybe it doesn't, because its so obvious she is indeed being a nutter
CBC, isn't there a delivery place nearby? My Amazon purchases get delivered to the local convenience store, and MyHermes go to a garage ... I'm sure there's other collection points too. But I know you're a lot more rural than I am ...
ETA: CBC, just seen your second post. Understood2023: the year I get to buy a car0
