The same happened to me. DD will only show on your account 2-3 days later. You can file a Indemnity Claim from your bank and they will refund immediately. This is faster than waiting UP to refund you.Just had to email UP. They have taken a DD the day after my supply with them ended but no record of it is showing on my UP online account.0 -

Thanks, just checked and it's there on my UP account this morning. I'll let UP decide if they wish to refund me before my final bill or not as it's not a huge amount.0 -
UP has taken their DD again a month after my contract has ended. Still waiting on my final bill so don't really want to complicate things by cancelling the DD.0

They weren't answering my emails so contacted them by chat and they've generated my final bill and set my DD to £0 so no more is taken before I cancel it after my refund of credit0

In my case the DD was still taken despite £0 shown in online portal. Might be problem of DD provider or communication between UP and DD provider. You can cancel it now. Hopefully, they'll refund me within 14 days now I have notice of my final bill or they'll have to pay me £30. Then I'll cancel it. The next DD date is not due for another 3 weeks. If they do take it again I'll just get my bank to recall it.0 -
This is not true - you do not need an active DD to receive a credit payment back from any one.
Without exception, when I leave any company, I immediately cancel my Direct Debit.
Credits have always been returned - without exception.0 -
What's your reasoning behind this please?EnergyTwist wrote: »I would urge readers not cancel your DD mandate until after the final bill has been settled0 -

Presumably to allow prompt and efficient settlement of an account
and to avoid wasting your time and effort doing things you don't need to.0
