Well the house is lovely - the downside is that they'd put the wrong price online yesterday - he'd got the paperwork with him to show me that it's actually £205 per month more than we pay now - told him there's no way we can do that and he's going to see what he can do.

Really do hope something comes of it as all our furniture would fit and we'd get an upstairs!!!!!! Bungalows are lovely to clean but horrible when you want to get away from the kids for 10mins. Garden is all paved so no sciatica inducing mowing and at a quick glance I think all my curtains would fit too - smallest bedroom is even painted DD2s fav colours!

    Fingers crossed all.

  • Hope it all goes well Pooky. We went through a similar move recently a £100 PCM increase on the rent but a better boiler and more room so we save by staying in more and cutting down the gas significantly.

Today I finally tidied the bedroom and it feels so much more comfortable. Contemplating a trip out to Matalan to buy some sheets for DS to be's moses basket. Also got an offer on a loan of a moses basket stand - which is brill, another cost saved! Baby is squirming at the moment - feel like John Hurt and it's going to burst out any moment.

    Just popped back to say,

Vastsarah....well done, not an easy decision to make, but I think you have done the right thing.

Pooky....hope the new house is ok, and that you get it.

Taplady...that comment about being picked up in a lorry and taken to a laybye sounds almost illicit.

    Good Afternoon All

vastsarah - by the sound of things, you've done the right thing. Gossip like that amongst friends can spoil a good friendship!
ellie - hope you get sorted soon at the CAB. They can be a pain, waiting etc. BUt after realising they are run by volunteers. I go when Im either desperate or have plenty of time to wait!

Home from work, glad the day is over! That place is getting worse, not so much for mindless chit/chat/gossip in my dept, as well as the back stabbing, but people are leaving left right & centre and also being sacked! A chap got the sack today, after servibg 15yrs with the company, so it goes to show, no-one's safe!

Made the batter for the toad in hole, thats resting, will put the sausages in the oven shortly.
Ive also made some toffee crispies before the school run!

DD tells me its her parents evening tonght! I had forgotton, despite it being written on the calendar. Why do I bother writing on the damn thing, if I forget to look at it.

DS didnt make the next round of his talent competion at school. He's ok about it, and I said you he lucky to get as far as he did and its taking part which counts!

Right, will start dinner now, then do the ironing & get a wriggle on with the washing!

    Have a great evening all

Thanks Ellie - he's got Cystic Fibrosis so we're quite used to him having hospital stays - but NOT MRSA

Anyway back home from work :j DD is on her computer and I'm on mine - it's great having wireless :D No more rows over the PC.

Thinking about what to have for tea - might do chilli and cornbread.

Need to prise DD's school shirt off her so I can stick it in the wash - she ruined one of them last week painting - so she's only got 2 now - I think I might purchase another one, all this washing/ironing etc is tedious.

Going to be organised and make DD's packed lunch for tomorrow in a mo so I don't have to rush around tomorrow.

Thriftlady - hope you DS1's flu jab goes okay
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Hi everyone

Not had a look at today's thread - hope to catch up with you all this evening.

Just popped on to say that I feel better than I have done for a long time! I think the clutter in my house has been getting me down and I just couldn't face putting out my children's stuff. The feeling of achievement today has been wonderful and I feel more like I was a few years ago.

DH and I 'did' the loft today. I have 10 full boxes of rubbish and two fertiliser sacks sitting in the study for uplift on Friday. Old manky carpet, ancient coffee table and a very dusty bed-chair just to be brought down on Thursday night. Also putting out 2 bikes from garage which have not been ridden for about 20 years. Yes, I know I should probably try and do freecycle but to be honest I feel just wonderful that at last we have decluttered. The wee girl next door got a huge box of barbie stuff and recent news is that Ken has already had a dress on!!!!!!!!!! Kept the Lego and Action Men.

We filled the car this morning with things for the charity shop - books, clothes, suitcase, etc etc. Also had 4 fertiliser sacks full of knitting wool for the day centre - it was closed!!!!!!!!! However, charity shop more than happy to take it to hand into another Day Centre where the ladies knit and crochet for Britain!

My Christmas section in the loft is rather full but have decided to wait until Christmas to properly sort that area out. It is all together in one place which is the main thing.

Have come across a box of old store card, bank etc statements at least 10 years old and about to get RSI from the shredder! It is having a rest just now as I think I have overheated it.

I think I have learn't my lesson not to hoard stuff. Surely if store card paid off monthly, only keep statements for a relatively short time.

Hope you are all having not too bad a day and that the thread cold is not spreading!

By the way, before you all start lecturing me about overdoing it - honest, I haven't. I think this is what I have needed to get out of the doldrums and DH being very strict with me.

    Love
