Hiya,
Good to see you posting FoS and great idea to send two cards each. I will PM each of you with address details shortly xx
I went to the Excel centre in London Docklands on Saturday for what I though was a craft show, as in readymade things to buy. Was slightly(!) disappointed to arrive to a craft show where you buy supplies. Quite small and mum and I had walked around it in half an hour. Luckily I got a deal on the tickets at just £2 each and I had my rail ticket to London. Just had to pay for the tube/docklands light railway and we took our own lunch. Of course both mum and I managed to buy a few things. I got another blanket kit from black sheep wools to crochet. Also a pottery snowman ornament from the only stall with readymade things. Mum managed to buy some more wool plus a blanket kit too. Not a bad day, just not what I was expecting.
Craft club at church tomorrow night so may (now) take another cross stitch card to make!! Will sort that out tonight so I'm ready to go straight after dinner.
Take care all

I've still to frame the bauble wreath in the hoop, so that's a job before December that needs doing. Sorry you were disappointed by the craft show coxy, I would like to visit Yarndale one year, my OH laughs when I mention it so I guess it would be a solo trip. Are we aiming to send the cards first week in December as usual? That would be Monday the 3rd.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0

Hiya,
Have PM'd addresses for the Christmas card exchange so we are all set.
Craft group only saw 4 of us turn up (was originally 12 of us but numbers have dwindled just lately). Makes me a bit fed up tbh that folks said they wanted something setting up and once a month would be doable. We have a WhatsApp group and I also send reminders about it being on. Most don't even message to say they can't make it. We are not meeting in December as it's just such a busy month for everyone (including me!) so might knock it on the head.
I still need to frame the gingerbread trio that I finished earlier in the year. Christmas decs are going up next weekend - DH and DD will do them as I'm going to Chester for the weekend to visit friends. Hoping to get some presents next weekend if time allows - feel very behind this year for some reason.
FoS what are you working on atm (apart from our cards of course!!).
nmm - I'd love to go to Yarndale too - Cross Stitch cafe meet up next September??
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Sorry your group numbers are going down, its the same where I live people complain there's nothing to do then you set something up and they don't bother to use it.

coxy & nmm. I’ve posted my 2 cards today so you should get them soon. I put last year's (from mrs mp) into a coaster I’ve got a nice collection from various cards made for me over the years. Others are framed and are part of my Christmas decorations
Coxy - I always have lots of WIPs. Too many to list! But for the past few days I’ve been stitching a small Lizzie Kate design called Coming to Town It’s one of the Santa Snippets. Hope to finish it this evening. Stitched his beard in Wisper thread which gives a great effect but takes much longer to stitch (at least it does for me)0 -
FoS & Coxy, I too posted your cards today, I must admit I only got them finished last night but I was determined to send them on time, I have no idea where this year has gone. Also I officially hate metallic thread, love the look, hate the thread :rotfl: I did manage to pick up Elvis for an hour and I've still to mount the bauble wreath which I will get done this week.
FoS, I've not heard of wisper thread before, just googled it its like fluffy thread I bet the effect is brilliant.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -
So sorry ladies I haven't posted my cards yet. Was away this weekend and have just finished the second card tonight. Need to mount it and will have DH post both as he is now officially out of work AGAIN. Just can't catch a break and have a decent run of employment. Merry Christmas! We will be okay for a few months but obviously it's not a great time to be looking. If we didn't have children in school we would move out of the south east and set up elsewhere. Just couldn't do it to the children
sorry for the gloomy post. Hope to have the cards posted out first class on Wednesday all being well.

No worries coxy, Wednesday will be fine
sorry to hear your DH is out of work, I don't know if you would consider parcel delivery, you can make a decent amount especially at Christmas time and the hours are pretty flexible, pm if you want more info.

Coxy. So sorry to hear about your husband. There’s never a good time to be out of work but just before Christmas has to be the worst. Hope he’ll find something soon. Don’t worry about your cards. This is supposed to be a fun exchange not more stress
Nmm. Thank you for the exquisite card which arrived this afternoon. It is absolutely gorgeous and is definitely going into a frame for display in future years. I love it Thank you0 -
Hiya,
DH posted cards 1st class today so you should have them by the weekend all being well. Can't say they are exquisite but hope they will suffice Need to do some crochet tonight as my mood is very low. DH doing ok. CV is out there so fingers crossed something will turn up before our savings run out. Only at the last job 20 months so no settlement unfortunately.
Have a good evening all
