Make Do: the dusty remains of my breakfast granola went into home-made flapjacks, lunch pitta's courtesy of the freezer
Mend: Summer maxi dress inherited from my mum now knee-length so I can stride purposefully in it and not feel I've been hobbled (spare material now a tie-belt for said dress and a soon-to-be headband backed with some spare denim)
Minimise: Slowly, slowly minimising the fabric stash. Found a nice dusky pink sari I'd forgotten I'd bought - been looking for some bordered fabric for a blouse, so this will save me £20-£30 on fabric.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used
Crafting 2024 - 1/9 items finished0 -
Make Do: Food in stores
Mend: My new oven gloves which I managed to burn a hole in - now darned but only after I burnt a finger
Minimise: A broken ice cube tray & lots of water as it is hot, hot, hot:rotfl:Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

Can I make do, mend & minimise this?
I wanted some shorts but haven't been able to find any, so I've made some! I haven't got a pattern for shorts, so I used a pattern for dungarees and adapted it, used fabric from my stash so minimised that!new challenge?£1 a day for Christmas 2024 £367 / £366 ~Got married 24/05/19 ~ Credit CardDFW Nerd #1155 ~LBM 25/2/09 ~ Debt at highest £8,037.35 ~ £00 -

I've minimised the last 6 pringles and an almond slice!

I made do with leftovers for my tea and minimise them as well!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Making do with what stuff I have in the fridge to use up before my holidays
Minimising some boucle wool to the CS as it was donated to me by my neighbour plus a few paperbacks
Mended ,stitched up an old towel cut into squares and hemmed as cleaning cloths ,far too far gone to use to dry with ,but recycled into cleaning cloths:):)

Good afternoon,
A bit of MMM for the next two weeks, before I go back to work.......
Make do: Made washing Gloop using up some mini soaps from hols and fortified it with the end of a bottle of shampoo nobody likes.
Mend: Adjusted the waist of a tiered skirt so it actually fits me.
Minimise : Bag of stuff to CS, and did not buy anything else!0 -
Make do: Was one of a few people who hopefully changed the mind of a lady on a local Facebook group, who had come on to complain about people who don't pick up their dogs' poo, and was saying she had to throw her child's new shoes away just because she had got poo on them !
I was horrified, people have been stepping in poo since, well, long before shoes were invented, and it is disgusting, but this relatively new throw-away attitude is far worse in my mind (I said it much more nicely than that and pointed out that she could save money and stop her daughter being so upset about losing her new shoes, by doing the admittedly unpleasant job of cleaning them!)
Mend: I sewed up my jeans which were ripping along the seam - hopefully it'll hold!0 -
Afternoon!
Make do: I have altered a maxi dress into a skirt. The top never looked right, but I think it will be a useful skirt.
Mend: while the sewing machine was out, I have repaired the seam on a pinafore. :j
Minimise: Listing some things on EBay and starting a new charity bag.
Feels like a more productive day today0
