Make do: Took bbq and garden chairs to DD1's for her birthday bbq - saving her buying new ones
Mend: Sewed up dogs' cushion AGAIN after it came apart at the seams when they started playing with it, and getting the padding out. I will lose patience at some point and they'll end up with just an old towel to sit on, but I'm not quite there yet!0 -
DH & DSis are making do with wood offcuts to make a temporary repair to the decking & when finished will be minimising general detritus from the garden storage boxes & shed.

Woo Hoo Mrs SD - Ernie hasn't spoken to me for some while!
Been minimising produce from the garden at a rate of knots - its lovely but I'm picking every day and blanching, top & tailing, open freezing etc. Starting to play tetris in the freezer now lol.
I still have a pile of mending & alterations that looks at me every time I pass the dining room but not got the motivation at the moment. Glad its in plain sight though 'cos I will do it........soon
Havn't been posting 'cos not been doing a great deal at the mo - had a nasty chest infection that took about 3 weeks to go - only just getting back to somewhat near normal (well, normal for me that is lol)
Just sitting posting some ads for some surplus items & hoping for a bit of dosh and more stuff out of the way.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Glad you are on the mend silvsasava
but make sure you take it easy until you are fighting fit
i am sure that there is nothing so urgent that it cannot wait a few more days
ERNIE has been quite kind to me over the last few years:T What I do is bank the cheques but withdraw the cash & put it in my ‘Splurge Purse’ - a few years ago I managed to save up enough to buy my spectacles in cash - I am quite short sighted so buy the all singing, all dancing glasses with the ‘magic’ sunglasses option :rotfl: Expensive but worth it to me
Re the getting stuff out of the house, I am awaiting a call back from the CS re collecting several large bits of furniture which will get me back on track with full time declutteringExcuses, excuses
Have a great day everyone

Thanks MrsSD - I did manage to get all the stuff on a couple of websites - just hoping for some interest now!
Glad Ernie could help you with your glasses. I always think that money spent on eyes and teeth is a good investment - they have to last you a lifetime!
The steel beam arrived late this afternoon so now I've got to do some clearing out so DH has space for the acrows and scaffold planks ready to knock the wall down. Think the dusting can take a rain checkSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
