Make do: Used up food from the freezer, and wrinkly forgotten veg, still using my water bottle even though the lid has broken, just being careful to keep it upright
Mend: Sewed up sofa throw where crazy springer has scratched it
Minimalise: Getting good at collecting water from shower/waiting for tap to run hot for watering plants; oN a general no-buy (apart from necessary food), the clothes I've got will do me for the summer0 -
Making do with the last of the pate on crackers for lunch with some fruit
Mending : well not strictly mendin,g but knitting three more squares for the charity blanket I set myself an amount per week to knityup I am that anal:):):)
But I knit for two different charities, plus I have two blankets on oreder to make before the summer is done.
One has to go to NYC with my DD in October for a Christmas present for my DGS wife, and the other is for my DGGD as my DGD asked me to make one for the baby last Sunday so I have to pace myself on different demands
By doing all this knitting I shall be minimising my wool stash hopefully
Have a good day chums

I have started minimalising my wool stash too. I am making lots of granny sqaures blankets or cushions. These will be christmas gifts. I have a craft room full of crafty bits and bobs, fabric ect. I am not buying anymore. Just using what I have.
I take in the odd repair jobs mainly from busy mums. People dont seem to have the time or skill anymore.I just sit and watch tv whist darning cardigans or sewing on scouts badges. Its just a little side line. I never spend any of the money I make. I get a couple of pound here, couple of pound there. At the end of the year a decent amount gets deposited into my savings account.0 -
Lollipopwitch, nice to get a bit of benefit from using your skills :T
:DJust being a nosey c*w:D but are you saving for a treat ?
Make Do: Dinner tonight using los & food from fridge & freezer
Mend: Toilet flush handle tightened
Minimise: 6” stack of 10-15 year old personal paperwork shreddedBe Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

For make do and mend, our current project is to repair a hole in the kitchen work surface and I think live with it for quite a while while we try and scrape the pennies for a replacement
Minimise: Still not using plastic food bags, almost never using cling film or foil, the box of saved take away and ice cream tubs etc in the garage doesn't look very minimal but I use them the whole time and they do save a lot of single-use waste
Still working my way through the excess in my freezer and store cupboard, I'm getting there slowly0 -
Minimising my freezer food and have a 'lost' piece of steak that I found at the back of my freezer drawer to have for lunch today with some from the freezer asparagus that was y/s and chucked in the freezer ages ago.
Making do with as much as possible from my indoor food stocks over the next few weeks to try and reduce the food mountain in the cupboards I am off on my holidays to the Isle of Wight in 9 weeks time so every bit I can save buy not shopping for anything unless its really needed will help with the holiday budget.
Mend : another three charity squares knitted last night for the blanket I am aiming for 3-4 per day.Once this one is finished I have promised to make a blankey for my gt granddaughter to keep her cosy in her car seat, so the charity stuff will be on hold for a week or two I have enough wool to do her one in the colours my DGD wants which is grey and white !! grey is apparently the 'in' colour for baby blankets this year No pretty pinks or lemon yellows but grey Luckily last week when I was on holiday and I snaffled a huge bag of different colour wools from a CS for a fiver there were 5 balls of a soft grey in there so no need to buy anything else as I have a good stash of white wool.

Made do with leftovers for tea as it was only me eating.
Mend. I fixed the washing machine. It hadn't been emptying properly. It was a very easy fix i cleaned out the filter! It is now working fine.
It also made me clean the kitchen floor as the washing machine leaked when I fixed it.
Minimize doing well in this with books, magazines and paperwork amongst other things have left the house.0 -

Nice one! You've reminded me, I need to look at mine. It's working OK but I know it's a long time since I last did it.And I could probably do with washing the vaccuum filter too while I'm at it.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -
