Make do, Mend and Minimise in 2018

KW - I'm a size 5. The pair I donated were ballet style with elastic round the tops but they were very uncomfortable for my little fat feet!
Have also minimised my hair this week, very short (think Jamie Lee Curtis) and much needed.
Making do this week will be all meals coming from existing stocks in freezer, fridge and cupboards.
Mending - well, none to speak of but I'm sure if I looked hard enough I could find some. Being outside in the lovely sunshine is winning though!
That's a shame - I would have happily sent the 7s to you
Hmm have you tried looking on Am4zon for slippers?Must use my stash up!0 -
Just a thought Yorklass - I bought some moccasin style loafers in Aldee a few weeks ago to use for slippers. They're leather with a nice sole that comes up the back of the heel like driving shoes. OK for indoors and outside when I go the the bin or the washing line They did navy or grey - bought the navy ones and they're so comfy I went back for the grey ones. I'm quite particular about my slippers and these work a treat.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Thanks KW, that's very kind of you. :A And also for the suggestion of Am4zon.Just a thought Yorklass - I bought some moccasin style loafers in Aldee a few weeks ago to use for slippers. Thanks silvasava, I don't have an Aldi nearbybut I could get to one. I've just checked on their website and they don't seem to have them in now but maybe they'll get them again sometime. The make-do sandals are fine for now and at least they're being used!
Yesterday I spent some time unravelling an abandoned piece of knitting and winding the yarn into skeins. I've washed them today and will re-wind into balls once they're dry. This probably isn't an MMM activity, but it's definitely OS as the yarn will be used for something else.Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -

How are we actually into June already? This year is flying past!
Did the kilt walk on Sunday - 26 miles  really hard going but raised money for my work so worth it
Beautiful day here again so got my washing out after work. Was outside for about 3 hours so mostly dry, have popped it into my heated aired for a couple of hours to finish drying. Think I may need to get a new washing line as it is very frayed and quite dirty, not sure I would be able to mend it.
Garden is coming on well - potatoes, onions and rhubarb are all growing. I did plant some lettuce too but it hasn't come up. It was really successful last year but I planted it in a different part of the garden so wonder if that's why. I'll plant some more seeds tomorrow and see what happens.
Recycling bins get collected tomorrow so put out all the papers and washed out containers.
Trying to minimise my food budget so eating as much as possible from stores.

I use bleach, lemon juice and bicarb and Vim when the big guns are required!
Thank you, I tried bicarb and it looks so much betterMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66

How about bar keepers friend. £2.50 a bottle - non abrasive cream cleanser, great on ceramic and stainless steel. I use it in both bathroom and kitchen. Can purchase at tkmaxx, John lewis or lakelandI got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0
